Christmas?

Harry’s P.O.V.

“Why not?” I asked Emma as I grabbed her skirt, like a small child trying to persuade his mother. She hardly reaches my shoulder, but I still would grab her skirt.

“Harry, we aren’t going on a trip on christmas. We spent it in family every year…”

“Can we skip christmas?” I interrupt her.

“No Harry.”

“But we already gave Louis his gift. ¿Why can’t we go on a trip?”

“Because Christmas it’s a time to be with the family and if you want to go on a trip, you can go alone.”

“Emma…”

“No Harry. That's my last word. Tomorrow is Christmas and we’ll spend it with your family like it or not. We can go on a trip later. Like in your birthday.”

“My birthday? That's in a month! Also, I was going to give you your other surprise on this trip.” I said, tempting her so her curiosity would make her stubborn mind change of opinion.

“If I already waited a month I don’t see the mind in waiting another month.” She said shrugging, sticking some tape to finish wrapping a gift.

“Why are you so stubborn?”

“Why are you so bitter? Last Christmas you almost destroy Aiden’s dreams...

“You should tell him all that North Pole and Santa Claus stuff doesn’t exist.”

“He’s only five, Harry! You could stop being bitter and smile a little to life, you know?”

“I can’t smile to it because my girlfriend just told me that we can’t go on a trip.” I made a pout.

“I would have said yes if he didn’t behave like a bitter and stop whining around the kitchen eating cake mix.” She said.

I frowned. I went to stick the spoon in the bowl again and took it to my mouth. Emma looked at me and I raised my hands, defending myself, with the spoon still in my mouth. Emma came to me and took the spoon out of my mouth. She wiped the corner of my mouth with her finger.

“Stop eating that, your stomach will hurt.” She scolded me and then kissed my cheek.

I left the kitchen and went upstairs muttering. I flopped into bed. I took my phone and reluctantly called my sister.

“Harry?”

“Cancel all.” My voice came out in a sad whisper.

“What happened? Did you regret it?” My sister's the exalted voice exploded in my ears.

“No, of course not. Emma said we couldn’t go traveling because Christmas ‘is to be with the family.’” I said running a hand over my face. Sometimes Emma could get me riled.

My sister laughed and I frown.

“Don’t laugh.” I complained.

“Okay, I'll tell mom you are coming tomorrow.” She said, not even trying to stop her laughter.

The call ended and I left my phone on the bedside table. I turned on the TV and changed channels until I found a more or less interesting film. I settle on the bed, crossing my arms over my chest. I was staring at the screen trying to stop being angry at the change of plans that Emma had me do.

I was so aware of what appeared on the TV that I hadn’t realized that the time had passed. Emma entered the room. She climbed into bed and snuggled next to me, putting one of her legs over mines. Hers lips pressed against my neck and before I knew it she was already fast asleep.
