"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity."
- Albert Einstein
I really don't think I was properly aware that I was doing one of the stupidest things I'd ever managed to convince myself was a good idea.
Now, my own errors are obvious, like when you look back on an argument and finally think of the perfect comeback. When I ran over that swell of a hill, all I knew about the boy and girl were their names and faces. Only things I'd seen and they'd thought to disclose.
My lack of sanity was (and still is) unnerving. Who, outside of silly teen fiction novels, just ups and runs off with two strangers while vacationing in a foreign continent? True, I wasn't exactly in a great place life-wise, but that wasn't and excuse to make the same sort of a decision a headless chicken might. But revenge is illogical and petty, riddled with flaws and spur of the moment decisions. Vengeance ruled my mind, brandishing a whip made of steel that forced me to believe in the accuracy of my actions. I thought that if I worried my mom sufficiently, perhaps she would pay a little more attention to... Me. Generally. I used the exact same tactics a three year-old would, except the stakes were much higher and the risks I took were more extreme.
They did, of course, pay off. After all, I've lived to tell the tale (and then some), haven't I? I assure you completely, this isn't some sort of creepy message from beyond the grave, but a story of a girl, whose life was a little more than averagely screwed up.
But still, be warned. Just because you lived after jumping from a cliff, doesn't mean it's an action worth repeating.
A/N: I know, it's über short, and more than a little choppy, as most of the "now" perspectives probably will be. In fact, they aren't strictly relevant, so feel free to skip the next ones now that you've seen this. Vote, drop me a line (comment), tell a joke :D I'm really happy that people seem to enjoy this. It really makes my day to see a lovely comment, which is why this is dedicated to JeffTKisBeautiful because she/he/it made me smile. Sorry for rambling, this is longer than the actual chapter, haha. OH! On the side is the "watt" that surrounds Neweurk. Have nice lives. Bye.
