C5: home ground

" my......." those where the first words that I heard when I set foot in Casavanna airport, after 8 hours of air travelling. The air that I last breathed 2 years ago hit my nose full force, this place called home. I should be thrilled to come back but I'm not, I feel suffocated, it is my own prison. when I'm here I'm bound by responsibilities.
"Vero, I'm Vero, and I have told you to address me so Ted "

I told the guy who wore a black suit and from the corner of my eyes I could see his gun poking out of his waist band, rolling my eyes, ofcause my parents would send a loaded body guard to escort me" my apologies my....I mean Vero" he said looking around " shall we ?" he asked opening the door of the black Mercedes Benz with tilted Windows.

After 45 minutes of driving we finally arrived home when the large gates opened the first thing I saw was a crowd, my mother in her Blue long sleeve gown, next to her my dad was, with his black suit and my sister Adeline with her fiancè Duncan and a lot other, ofcause my mother threw a party!

" oh!sweetie you are home" my mother said hugging me as soon as I stepped foot out of the car" mother , Father, nice seeing you again" I said with an unreadable expression, truth be told I missed them.

" what on earth are you wearing !" my mom asked , i rolled my eyes at her and replied " they are called Jeans mother , jeans" I told her smilling " hideous! " she told me and I laughed.

" I'm glad you are back, has it settled yet that you have responsibilities? " my father asked, in his ever so serious voice , I wanted to tell him no, but it was too public for that so I went for the next best thing " yes it has " I gave a small smile to him , looking at my sister who looked bored to death , I smilled at her" Ade" I walked up to her and hugged her.

The awkwardness felt was beyond, Ade simple stood there stiffly, not responding to my hug. Quickly letting go, I cleared my throat."I've missed you so much" i told her, to which she responded with a cold glare.

"Why don't you come inside ,we have a lot to do, also, I need you to be dressed right." My mother told me, I simply looked at Ade and walked with my mother and father inside. A place called home,yet my heart was not there, here I was bound by responsibilities.

After all was said and done,I was escorted to my room, where I was told to dress " appropriate ".

Walking to the Dining area felt like i was walking on hot coals, I knew very well what was to come from this dinner, the lectures, glares and questions were set, the only thing left was for me to drag my ass there.

When I arrived, the room was so quiet, mother and father where sitting along side, with my sister as well, Her fiancee was no way near sight.

"Sit" my father commanded and I did exactly that which I was told to do.
"I will have you know Vero that for all this time you have been neglecting your duties, Adeline had to take them as well,and you know Very well that could prove difficult in a family like ours" my Father continue, I only looked down, with nothing to say, after all I did ask them to bail me out, now I had to take responsibility for everything I have done.

"I ....I will make it up, all I need is a little bit of time." I mumbled, Even though I wanted badly to just run away, I knew that was out of question, after my last attempt, it was better to suck it up and accept all that came with my life.
