I was standing in the middle of Miles' hospital room. I couldn't help but pace. I always hated the smell of hospitals.

We found out that Miles' kidney ruptured and he just came out of surgery today. I never left the hospital. I couldn't, I wanted to be there when he woke up. I sat in the chair beside his bed and fell asleep my hand on top of his.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. I mean how couldn't I be? He collapsed in front of my eyes and was rushed to surgery.

I soon drifted off to sleep. It was only 7 but I was so tired. I only left the room to get food.

I woke up by my hand being shaken. I groggily looked up. The room now dark, but Miles eyes shone.

"Morning." He chuckled. I smiled and nodded at him. "What happened?"

"Your kidney ruptured, you went into surgery, and have been out for 3 days. I haven't left the room." I said my cheeks heating up slightly.

"Why? You should go home to your bed and sleep." He said and winced in pain.

"I had to make sure you were okay, and I am not leaving now so don't even try to convince me to." I said stubbornly.

He backed up slightly and opened up the blankets. "Come here." He said and smiled tiredly. The moon illuminating his face beautifully.

"I can't, you're hurt-" I started but Miles cut me off.

"Please come get comfy." He said and I sighed climbing in beside him. Making sure to not move the bed. We were face to face. I could feel his breath fan over my face.

"Did my mom come?" Miles asked his eyes hopeful.

I sighed and frowned a little. "Um, she was here for 10 minutes today to see if you were awake." I said sadly.

I saw tears well up in his eyes that glistened in the moon light. A tear fell down his cheek and I raised my hand to wipe it away.

"I'm here." I said.

"What am I going to do with you people." Mrs Raymond sighed. I laughed slightly. It's been 2 weeks since the surgery and Miles first day back was today. No doubt Stacey was all over him.

"Kat, Miles on stage now." She said tiredly and pushed the other kids off the stage. I got up and walked up. Miles trailing behind me. I watched him carefully walk up the stairs making sure he was okay.

"Okay preform your skit and show the class why real chemistry looks like." She said and sat down. I breathed out and pulled out my lines. Bout a week ago Mrs Raymond told us to do a modern spin on Taming of the Shrew.

And since Miles wasn't here I said I'd be his partner. And since the movie 10 Things I Hate About You was a modern spin on Taming of the Shrew we decided to do that movie.

He was Patrick and I was Kat, how ironic, we had the same names. We did the scene as best as we could.

He grabbed my waist roughly and pulled my face closed to his, his breath caressed my face. He looked into my eyes and my breath hitches in my throat. Before we were about to kiss I stepped away from him.
