It's been a little over a year and a half since you had last seen your friend, Kevin Hayes. The two of you had meet in your first year in Communications at Boston College. Ever since Kevin started playing for the New York Rangers, he had been very busy and rarely ever talked. So you had yet to tell him that you were moving, to New York of all places.
You had just finished moving in to your new apartment and decided to go for a run through Central Park. You'd heard that it was amazing place to go running. In the middle of your run, you saw a familiar looking guy walking a cute little bulldog, it was Kevin. You stopped to talk to him. His eyes widened when he saw you
"Oh my god, no way Y/N, what are you doing here," he said embracing you in a big hug. "Isn't that obvious, I'm on a run," you said jokingly. He laughed,"I meant what are you doing in New York." "Oh ya I forgot to tell you, I got a job with Sportsnet covering the sports teams of New York , which includes the Rangers." "No way, you are here to stay. You wouldn't believe how much I've missed you, Y/N. What has it been a year since we last saw each other," he smiled. "Ya, sounds about right and I've missed you too, Kevin." "I hate to do this but I have to go. I've got practice for tonight's game but I would love to catch up on the rest later," he said. The two of you exchanged phone numbers and you headed home. You finished unpacking the rest of your boxes. Your phone rang, it was work. They wanted you down at Madison Square Gardens to do some interviews with some of the players before tonight's Rangers game. You put on a nice dress and some makeup before heading down to the arena. When you got there, one of your coworkers was waiting for you with your security badge. The two of you headed down to the dressing room where a bunch of players were already being interviewed by the media. You decided to interview Dan Boyle, so that it wasn't obvious that you liked Kevin. You asked about what they were hoping to accomplish this game as well as what his thoughts were about his opponent. Kevin walked over and join in on the interview, adding that they weren't too worried about the Bruins and that he had a good feeling about tonight's game. The interview came to an end and Kevin began to joke around say that you had to stop following him. Your coworker looked at you strangely. Kevin looked at your coworker and began to laugh," I'm only joking, we were really good friends in college and I ran into her this morning in Central Park." Your coworker was now smiling,"well you might not want to make those jokes so loudly. Allegations like those can get her in a lot of trouble." "Completely understandable. I will stop with those jokes," Kevin said with a now very serious face. The time for player interviews had come to a close and players were heading home for some down time before the game. Kevin asked you to stick around and he waited til everyone was gone to ask you to come over and hang out. He texted you his address so that you wouldn't forget it and the two of you headed to his place. When the two of you finally got there, he put in a pizza for the two of you, came over to the couch and sat down next to you. The two of you began to talk about what the two of you have been up in the last year. He put his arm around you bringing you close to him. Your head now rested on his shoulder. You looked up at him with your big puppy dog eyes. You were secretly in love with him and you weren't ready to admit this. He kept looking down at you and you could tell that he was fighting something. "What's wrong? It seems like your fighting something," you said to him. "I just can believe that you're here. I...I just " he rubbed you chin with his thumb and kissed your lips. "I'm sorry, that was inappropriate. I shouldn't have done that. I don't know what came over me," he said. "No it's fine. I have felt the same way for a long time," you said kissing him back. This time he didn't pull back. Your kiss became more and more passionate, til it was interrupted by the timer for the pizza. Kevin got up and made up two plates and returned to the couch where the two of you snuggled up together and ate your pizza while watching tv. The two of you finished your pizza and spend the remaining amount of the down time embraced in each other's arms. When it was time to go, you helped Kevin pick out a suit and tie and the two of you headed to the arena. While on your way there Kevin had one hand on the steering wheel and the other interlocked with yours. The two of you finally got there and Kevin looked at you, smiled and kissed your hand. "I'm so glad that we are finally together Y/N," he said sweetly. "Me too," you said as he planted a kiss on your lips.
