You and Sidney got married a year and a half ago and couldn't wait to have kids although the timing couldn't have been worst. You gave birth to your daughter Maria while Sidney was playing in Tampa Bay in Round 3 of the playoffs. It was hard having him away for the birth of your daughter but you understood that it was his job.

Today, Sidney was playing Game 6 and possibly the final game for the Penguins to clench the Stanley Cup in San Jose. You were saddened that you couldn't be there in person to watch him win but you didn't want to fly out with Maria who was now only three weeks old. So you decided to invite some of the other wives that didn't make the trip over to watch the game. You put Maria to bed before the game started because there was no way that you would be able to put her down once it has started. The game was very fast paced and you all had a good feeling about it. The third period dragged on and you all just wanted it to be over. The guys ended up winning 3-2 and were officially the Stanley Cup Champions.

You all jumped off the couch in excitement almost waking up Maria. You began to cheer and embrace each other in hugs as the guys did the same on the ice. They called Sidney to grab the cup and he raised it above his head. You were so proud of him. He did a lap before he pasted it on to one of the other players and this continued until every guy had his turn with a lap with the cup.

After the celebration, Sidney was called over for an interview. The interview asked him the general question before asking a few personal questions.

"So Sidney, we heard that you are a father of a little girl. Where is she tonight?"

"Yeah her name is Maria and she is currently at home, probably watching the game with her mom."

"Were you sad that you missed her birth because you were in Tampa?"

Sidney's eyes began to tear up,"Obviously every father wants to watch the birth of their child but obviously being an NHL player especially the captain of a team in the running for the Stanley Cup, that doesn't always get to happen. I mean winning makes it sting a little less but that's something that I wish I could have change."

"Well congrats on the win and good luck with little Maria."

"Thank you!" he skated back to his team and your eyes began to fill with tears as you saw him cry at the mention of missing Maria's birth. You were going to make sure that he wouldn't miss the birth of your next child.
