three; hope
****
"Life gets better."
"That's easy for you to say."
"You're just in a bad spot."
"No, my entire life is in a bad spot. Not just a little section of it. It's not going to get better."
"Stop thinking so negatively."
"What is there to think positively about?"
"Your future."
"I don't have one. I don't want one."
"So what is there to look forward to?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are you sitting in front of me today in this office, instead of lying six-feet under the grave?"
"I don't know. Him, maybe. I keep hoping."
"Hoping?"
"Yes."
"Hoping what?"
"That I won't just be a ghost of the past. I want him to love me the way I loved - the way I love - him. But I love people who will never love me back, and I have dreams that will never come true."
"Have a little hope."
"Hope is overrated."
