'You say, we'll go where nobody knows, with guns sitting under our petticoat. No we're never gonna quite, no we're never gonna quit it no'
~ Chocolate, The 1975
Una heard movement from inside the house, she saw lights on and heard music and chatter but she wasn't in the mood. Una opened the door and rushed up the stair before anyone realised she was back. She locked the bathroom door and turned on the light. The light flickered a yellow glow. Una splashed her face with cold water and put concealer over the dark circles and red rims of her eyes. She looked slightly less dead, that's always beneficial.
She went to put her bag and jacket away when she got a message from April.'How was Kayla?'
She left the message on 'read' while she contemplated what to say. Deep down she knew she should tell April the truth but at that point in time, she didn't want to believe it was the truth. She stopped walking towards the door and sat on the edge of the bath. Holy shit, she'd dated a murderer, she'd slept with the enemy. Maybe it was Kayla or maybe it was some crazy ghost bitch in Kayla's body. There was a knock on the door and Una's dad's voice was barely audible from the other side.
"Una? You in there?" Una nodded in response before realising he couldn't see her. She let out a weak laugh before responding.
She unlocked the door and slipped past her father before going into the spare bedroom she was sharing with her cousin, Kit. After dumping her stuff she was downstairs, in the kitchen, getting a cup of tea and a biscuit before going to sit with her family. For once, none of them asked about school. She managed to slip upstairs as it began to get dark outside. Una finally knew what to message April. She picked up her phone and April had messaged her again.
'Oh, I see. Busy are we?'
Una tried to laugh at April's dirty mind but it made her think of what had happened and she didn't need that.
All Una messaged back was; 'we broke up, please stop."499
Authors notes///
I'm so sorry it's took me ages (like 2 months, whoops) to write this but I've had the worst writers block and then I kind of got rid of it but then I started writing it everywhere but on my wattpad. So I had to go find it. It was very difficult to get in the mind set and occasionally I did so there's tons of note on rough working pages of maths work, scribbled in English jotter margins and written instead of take notes in bio. (Whoops)
Also, I've been thinking about writing a book where I just get way too deep and put it out into the world. I don't know if anyone would like to read that or if it's worth writing.
Love you guys :)
