I turned off the laser and ran straight back to Cassie. She was still breathing, and she was starting to wake up. "What happened?" she asked, I couldn't help myself but hugged her tight. "I thought I lost you, for good" my voice still as shaky as before "Don't ever do that again!" She then hugged me even tighter and said softly "I won't" and she gave me the most comforting smile I have ever seen. As soon as she gained her strength back we started to leave the factory. The last rays of sunlight began to fade away as the moonlight started to make its way into the sky. I helped Cassie get up on her feet and we started to walk out of the factory
We reached the car park and I got into my Mustang and turned the engine on. Cassie was going to be picked up by the Sergeant and she would continue to live her life as a special ops officer. "I'll tell him you escaped, I've got the bruise already so he would believe me if I told him that you left me behind." I looked at her once more, her auburn hair, her black eyes. I knew that if I left her here, this would be the last time I saw her. I know what I want to do, but I don't know whether I should actually do so. In the end I decided that I should do it and so I looked her in the eyes, knowing that this could be the last time I saw them, and I said "Hop in," She smiled, and the next thing I realized, she sat next to me as we drove off away into the night, leaving our old lives behind to start a new one.
