There weren't many that came. Alex has been a one man family ever since the car accident that killed his parents. I still looked around to see if I could find any familiar faces. Sergeant Doe couldn't make it. Minutes later a hearse arrived, followed by a black Volkswagen Beetle behind it. The driver then unloaded the casket from the back of the hearse and laid it down for the officials to take over.

We arrived at the funeral location where the service would take place. The atmosphere not only looked gloomy but felt gloomy, even for me. Everywhere I looked there were no smiles.

The seats weren't comfortable. I couldn't stop moving around finding a comfortable way to sit there for the next couple of minutes.

Then I noticed the casket right in front of me. It was an open casket, and so I could still see him for the last time. On each side of the casket sat two large candles. Both were red in colour. It reminded Cassie of the red colour of blood that ran through Alex's chest that dreadful night. She held back her tears and the ceremony started.

After the ceremony ended, the casket was closed, and pallbearers carried it on their shoulder to the yard. I reluctantly followed them

As the casket was lowered into the ground, many tears were shed. I still managed to hold back my tears and quietly I make my way out of the crowd and back to the parking lot. I quickly got into my car and drive away. Then at last, tears were shed.
