Misery [A]

Back to Alex..I know he should be dead by now, but why not add a little twist ;-)

I awoke in an instant. I try to figure out where I am. The last thing I remembered was being on a gurney being carried into the the surgery room. I loooked around. The whole room was yellow instead of white and green, which would look more like a surgical room. I tried to get up, and it felt easy. I thought that after the bullet pierced my chest I would have trouble breathing, but still, I felt relieved to be healed. Then I realized the shirt I was wearing. Thinking of Things, Do not Disturb. I remembered I wore a different outfit earlier when I came to the hospital. I rubbed my chest for a while to feel the wound, but I didn't feel any pain. I opened my shirt and I saw that my chest was still as normal as it was before. The wound on my shoulder didn't even exist any longer. Either I had amazing surgeons, or my whole life has been just a dream. I was still thinking in deep thought. "What if Cassie wasn't real? What if I never invented the time machine? What if Agent X never existed?" There were too many what ifs' going on in my head. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Son, hurry up, or you'll be late for work" the man in front of me told me with a smile. Son? But my father had died many years ago, when he and my mother had a car accident. I tried to recognise him but I couldn't get a full look at his face, but I knew it was familiar. His voice was too familiar as well. Then it hit me. I am not in a hospital, I'm at home. The only rather peculiar thing is that this isn't my home. and this isn't my world. Im in a whole new dimension, a dimension where Agent X is my father.
