--Dylan's POV-- --Time skip to next state--
The tour was going great. Seeing my brother, Andy, and all my friends perform was awesome. I have officially added Austin to my small list of best friends. I get to see everyone really often. Alan finally got the nerve to ask Aideen out. Which is where I was now. It was me, Aideen, Alan, Austin, and Andy on the Of Mice bus. Wow, that's a lot of 'A' names. Anyway, we were all hanging out, watching cartoons and eating. I was leaning against Andy's chest, in between his legs. I felt my phone vibrating. My face lit up at the caller. It was my best friend back home. I hit it off right away with her because she had a 'boy name' too. Her name was Ricky. I'd known her since kindergarten. I stood up and went into the kitchen.
"Hey, Ricky! It's been a while since we talked. I miss you," I said into the phone. I heard sobbing on the other side and scrunched my eyebrows together. When the sobbing subsided a bit, a voice that wasn't Ricky's spoke.
"Dylan, it's Helen, Ricky's mom. I'm so, so sorry to tell you like this. But Ricky, she," her mom paused to choke out another sob. My heart rate became rapid.
"She did what?" I asked quietly, afraid of the answer.
"She committed suicide," her mom finally answered in a strained voice. My eyes widened and my jaw hung open. I let my phone fall out of my hand and on to the ground. It crashed loudly. Andy quickly walked into the kitchen. I looked at him. His blue eyes were filled with concern. I felt myself breaking. I fell to my knees and sobbed into my hands. I felt Andy wrap his arms around me.
"Aideen!" Andy called. I heard some shuffling and then a small gasp. "Go get Oli. Now." I felt Andy sit and pull me into his lap.
--Andy's POV--
"Go get Oli. Now." I ordered Aideen. She looked at me, then nodded. She ran out of the bus. I sat down and pulled Dylan into my lap and chest. I noticed the phone on the ground. It was still connected. I picked it up.
"Hello? Dylan, are you there?" A voice called.
"Hi, this is her boyfriend. What happened?" I asked. The woman sighed.
"I'm her best friend's mother. Dylan knew my daughter, Ricky, since kindergarten. My daughter committed suicide last night." She explained. I lightly gasped. I clenched my jaw.
"Ok, I'll make sure Dylan is okay," I said and hung up. I kissed the top of her head. Austin walked in to investigate. I whispered what happened to him. He looked at Dylan, full of sympathy. He sat next to me and held her hand to try and comfort her. A minute later, Oli came bursting through the door. He sat on my other side. I allowed him to bring Dylan on to his lap. She looked up at him.
"Oli..." she whimpered. It killed me to see her like this. Oli looked at me.
"What happened?" He asked sternly. I rubbed my face and sighed.
"She got a call. A woman said that her daughter was friends with her. Ricky, her name was. Well the woman said that last night Ricky had committed suicide." I told him quietly, trying to keep Dylan from hearing it again.
"Oh my god." He breathed out. He hugged Dylan tighter. He leaned down. "Dylan, are you okay?" He whispered to her. I could see her watery eyes look up at his. She shook her head. The tears welled up in her eyes again, and she buried her head into the crook of her brother's neck. I scooted so I could rub her back as Oli began gently rocking her back and forth. Austin also came forward. He quietly sang "When You Can't Sleep At Night" to her. We sat like this for a while, taking turns singing our songs to comfort her. Pretty soon Dylan was asleep. Oli looked up at me. He slowly placed her back on my lap.
"Keep her safe, Biersack. I need to go tell the people at my scheduled performance that it's canceled. It starts in 10 minutes." Oli said. I nodded.
"No, don't cancel the performance. My band isn't doing anything today, we can go on for you. You can come and explain why." Austin said. Oli looked at him, about to protest. But I guess he knew that he couldn't just disappoint so many people. Austin stood up and began calling the other guys. Soon enough, the Of Mice guys and Oli had left for the stage. I sighed. I quietly stood up, holding Dylan in my arms bridal style. I put her phone in my pocket and walked over to my bus. Ashley and CC were there. Both looked concerned, and CC even stood up. I shook my head and mouthed "hold on" to them. They nodded. I went and put Dylan gently down on my bunk. I kissed her forehead, and went out and explained it to Ashley and CC. They both looked sad to hear what happened. I went back to my bunk and climbed in. I pulled Dylan close to me, protectively, and fell asleep.
