Ch.14 bribery

"Bruce?" Maria said sweetly as she got off the elevator.

"Natasha, why don't you go and play with the girls" Maria said as Natasha let go of Maria's leg and ran over to Jane and Pepper who where making snow men out of the mash potatoes that coated the floor.

"Yes?" Bruce said as he walked up to Maria. When he got to Maria he looked down at his feet and played with his hands in front of him waiting for Maria to snap at him for running off and joining in on the food fight.

"Do you no where Steve is? Maria asked as she bent down to Bruce's level.

"He's over their" Bruce said as he pointed to Steve helping some agents wipe the tables down some tables.

"Steve! can you come with me for a little bit?" I called as Steve looked up at the mention of his name then he ran over to me with a nerves look on his face.

"I'm going to need to barrow you from this clean up crew for a little bit if that's alright with you two?" Maria asked with a smile as Bruce and Steve nodded their heads.

"Why? didn't you say we have to clean up?" Bruce asked as they both ran into the elevator.

"I need favor from you bruce, and Steve I need you to get checked out by the doctors" I said with a smile as I hit the button for the other floor.

"What?" Bruce asked as he looked up at me.

"The scientist here want to help Tony, and to do that they have to build a machine. That machine has blueprints but the scientist don't understand it." Maria said as Bruce kept eye contact with Maria the whole time.

"That's where I come in?" Bruce asked as he raised his hand.

"Yes, I was hopping you could help us" Maria asked with a sweet smile.

"What's in it for me?" Bruce said with a huge smile.

'He's spent way to much time with tony' Maria thought in her head as her smile dropped.

"Knowing that you helped your best friend" Maria said with a smile hopping he would fall for it.

"Candy" Bruce said with a cheeky smile.

"No" Maria said as her smile dropped again.

"Alright, I guess you don't need my help" Bruce said as he crossed his arms over his chest with a huff.

"Fine, one candy" Maria said as she caved.

"10" Bruce said

"1" Maria said

"11" Bruce said

"1" Maria said as she crossed her arms over her chest

"7" Bruce said

"2" Maria said

"I'll take it" Bruce said knowing that the most he would probably get from Maria.

"Alright" Maria said with a smile as the elevator stopped and they walked out of the elevator. A shield doctor, nurse, and scientist where waiting for them as soon as they got off the elevator.

"Bruce, can you go with the nice scientist and help him?" Maria said as she bent down to Bruce's level and pointed out the scientist to Bruce.

"Ok" Bruce said as he gave Maria a hug and ran over to the scientist who had a puzzled expression that matched Maria's expression after Bruce hugged her.

"I what a hug to!" Steve said as he held open his arms for Maria to hug him.

"Alright! just stop giving me the puppy dog eyes!" Maria groaned as she reached down and picked him up and gave him a hug.

"I'll be back in a few minutes to check on you Bruce, I just have to get Steve check out" Maria said as Bruce's nodded his head and walked off with the the scientist and doctor.

"This way Agent Hill" the nurse said as she started to walked off. The scientist and doctor directed Bruce to a lab past some double doors to a glass door, while the nurse lead Maria and Steve threw the same double doors but went straight then thew another glass door.

"I need you to sit on the table for me Steve" Maria said as she set Steve down on the table that was covered with a cloth.....we've been trying to get the head of the medical wing to get comfier examining tables....but the scientist and the doctors are a little wired..ok their all kids of messed up sometimes.

"Are you listening?" The nurse asked Maria as she waved her hand to get her attention.

"No" Maria said bluntly as see looked the nurse in the eyes with a blank look.

"I was asking if agent Barton and Romanoff are easier to deal with now that their kids?" the nurse said again as she stated her work up on Steve.

"Why do you ask?" Maria questioned as Steve held her hand.

"No reason, I just had to do a few work ups on both of them and probably more than half the time we had to kn-sedate them of so we can do our job, and the other times we couldn't get a straight answer out of them....no offense but their pain in the ass to deal with." the nurse ranted. When the nurse said ass Maria quickly cover Steve's ears so he wouldn't hear it.

"I no, I have to work with them and deal with their crap 24/7 and I have to clear up their mistakes to" Maria said as she covered Steve's ears at the parts she didn't want his little brain to hear or comprehend.

"Alright, I'm all done" the nurse said as we pulled off her latex gloves and threw them away.

"Now we just need to get one of the doctors to do a full follow up on him" the nurse said as she filled out a file and place the file on the slot outside of the door.

"Since we're not backed up with agents that are hurt at this moment, you should bring the rest of the kids in to get their work up to, but well need to wait a least two days to get Pepper Potts and Jane Fosters written medical files." the nurse explained as she handed Steve a little blue lolly pop.

"Will do" Maria said with a sigh.

"Oh! before I forget! good luck with the kids, because god knows your going to need it" the nurse said before she left.

"Thanks" Maria mumbled as the nurse closed the door.
