Rushing through the winding road home, I glance back at the ball of fur with bright cobalt eyes. After a quick peek down under, I conclude my ball of fur is a dude. Without hesitation I reach my hand back to scratch his muzzle. I sincerely, have no idea what's going on in my head while I did that, but what I know for sure is that Blue Eyes back there isn't giving off a threatening vibe. When my hand hits the area I wanted, the wolf doesn't snap instead he leans closer, and I begin to run my hand up his furry face.

After a quick right we arrive at my quaint two story house. With an angry Momma waiting outside, hands on hips, foot tapping, and that look of fire only a mother could possess. My only thought ' Oh Fudge.'

Hitting the brakes, I hop out, and slide my seat forward. I softly coo, "C'mon, hunny, get up."

The wolf shakily hops down from the car and limps to my side. I then realize how gargantuan this wolf is. His head came almost to my shoulder, and his body was probably 5 feet long. I could feel my eyes widen at my quick calculations. Looking towards my mother I could see her surprise as well. On his left flank , the fur was matted with what I presume blood. Cringing I put my hand on his head, and start walking slowly towards the house.

On the porch stairs I half-drag half- coax the poor thing into the warm house. I was shaking in my boots when Mommy-dreary set her blazing eyes on me.

"What the actual hell, Riley?" She asks in a flat, deathly calm voice. My hearts in my stomach when I  see Blue shake harder and drop to the floor.

" MOM!!" I yell panic resonates through my voice.

"Hush, go get my kit from the kitchen, now!"

Okay, okay I can do this ,  I tell myself while rushing past  my mother and Blue, and into the kitchen.

Kit. Kit. Kit, there you are! Jesus!  Oww! Stupid freAKING TABLE!!

" Okay, I've got the kit! What do  I do?" I ask, my voice steadier than I feel.

" Just pass it here, please"

" Okay, Okay! Is he gonna be okay?" I frantically ask, as my mother pulls back her copper hair and  searches through her bag.

" Well he should be since he only has a shallow cut on his side...It's odd that there's so much blood though," her tone became inquiring towards the end, Mom's hands were still furiously searching for something. "OH! Here it is!"

Lifting her hands out of the bag, needle and thread were drawn out.  An awkward shuffle was done to get closer to Blue, Mom wasted no time in shaving the small space of hair and cleaning the wound. Poor Blue whimpered slighty and looked scathingly towards me at the shaving bit, which oddly amused me at how human he was. I looked away as the needle went in to Blue,  Ugh needles ... Those things are terrifyng poor dog.

I looked back when I heard a growl, Blue's lips were pulled back into a half-snarl.

" Hey! Don't growl like that she's trying to help you, dumb dog!"  I snap, seeing my mom tugging the thread tight sealing the wound. At once, Blue's  eyes turn toward me, their blue fire bright with pain and agitation. "Hey, Hey it's ok ."

I kneel and scoot towards the wolf, I lift my hand slowly towards his head.  The beast rumbles and my mom warns against my moving any closer as she wraps the bandage a final time and slowly moves back. " Riley, don't move any closer."

Totally ignoring her like the teen I am, I scoot closer and the growl deepens. I carefully place both hands on the ears of the rumbling, black wolf, and tilt his head into my lap. Letting go of the breath I was apparently holding, I run my hand along  Blue's snout and the rumbling stops, the world stops, too. The world goes black and a light explodes in front of me.
