In a land far away, like on a different plane of existence faraway~
"No...no...NO!" A woman with long silver hair and flashing teal eyes screeched. Her hair moved on its own accord gradually floating higher as her temper flared. The atmosphere was dark and cold, what you'd expect when living in a cavern on the top of a frozen mountain.
In front of her, a large smoking orb on a table glowed with images. Colors changed and the images moved. A young red headed girl and a black haired boy stood, speaking in hushed tones. The girl was surrounded by a pale silver- gold glow, it swirled bright and warm. Whereas, the boy was surrounded by a dark blue shadow almost in the shape of a wolf, it was dark, dangerous, and cold. The boy's aura was the workings of an evil curse and his own bitter feelings, although a slight twinge of pink showed around his heart.
The woman looking into the orb did not take the show of colors well. Her eyes turned blinding white and a chilling wind roared through the cavern she inhibited. She inhaled deeply and her eyes returned to their unnatural teal glow.
" He shouldn't have found her" she whispers a bit maniacally, a foreign accent colored her voice. " I killed her years ago."
" Well then I should make their new found relationship more exciting." She laughs, then starts mumbling in an ancient tongue, waving a pale hand across the orb. The orb's smoke turns a deep red and then vanishes altogether. With the smoke the image disappears, too. The woman stops her words and flashes out in a flurry of snow, laughing madly.
~Back to Riley's back porch~
"How can it be yes and no?" I reiterate, as he stares blankly at me.
" Well, I can only shift on certain nights and days..." He looks at me and pauses midway. I twirl my hand in an "and?" motion. " Like today it is the summer solstice. Other days are the winter solstice, full moons, and new moons. But since I met you, I've been getting the pull to shift more..."
I stare in disbelief," So you're saying you're a reverse werewolf?"
" Werewolves are very different creatures than I, ruadh. Quite ugly and not at all as awesome as I. " He smirks at me, and I try to push down a blush.
"Awesome? Who told you that, dog breath?" I smirk right back, but damn he is pretty awesome, and well defined like a HD TV. " We need to get you a haircut and new clothes. AndI'mverysorryforhittingyouwithmycar!"
I grab him before he can say anything and pull him through the door keeping an eye out for my mom.
" Okay no noise, not even a sound. Mom can't see you like this." I whisper dragging him into the house.
" Why not?" He asks a bit too loud making me shoot a dark look at him as we ascend the staircase.
" Why do you think, Prince of puppies?" I whisper with haste, reaching my room and closing the door behind us. " You're supposed to be a dog right now, not a very noisy and annoying man!"
"Oh."
