She Loves Me
but I don’t think
I really love
her.
She led on to me.
I didn’t show interest
in her, until she asked me out.
Of course, being the
hormone-infused teenager
that I am. I said, Sure. Why not?
I never wanted it, and still don’t,
to go beyond no strings attached.
But, she wanted more than sex.
She wanted a relationship. So,
It’s taking me longer than expected
to reach the level I want.
It’s only a matter of time
until
she lets me all the way.
Then I guess,
I just go over
to the next pretty flower.
That Night
we had a date. A picnic
in the mountains
Way up high,
on a ledge. Alone.
This required some
planning if I wanted it
to go the way I wanted
it too. I chose a small corner market,
about a fifteen minute drive from my home.
So, I had a small chance of anybody
recognizing me. Hell, it’s the city of Seattle,
the pure size of the population would hide my identity.
I’m glad of this
because, the things I wanted to get
was something I wouldn’t want anyone to know
I was buying.
I Walked in
to the market. The cashier didn’t even notice
me. She was too busy guarding the cigs and lotto tickets
behind the counter. I immediately headed for the back,
