"There is nothing to fear but fear itself" -Theodore Roosevelt

She runs frantically down that vacant streets of the sleeping small town with no one witnessing the unfolding events, not even the stars or the moon hiding behind a blanket of clouds. Her breaths come out in quick, shallow pants. She won't be able to keep the pace up for much longer. Pursuing her are two grown men dressed in three piece suits determine to capture her. She rounds a corner just to come face to face with a brick wall. She glares at the inconvenience, her pursuers drawing nearer. She is forced to come to a quick decision when they come into view. She grins mischievously and her bangs shift to reveal a purple seal on her forehead. She smacks the brick wall lining the alley she had managed to get cornered in and another seal identical to the one on her forehead appears; this one animated. "Sleep." she hisses, her voice practically seething acid. The mens' screams bounce off of the buildings and frightens a flock of ravens away. When she leaves the alley whistling, the men are on the ground holding their heads and begging for mercy.

"Hey! Kirie! Wake up!" Kiriel opens her eyes to find herself sprawled out on her mattress fully clothed and lying on top of the blankets. She aims a glare at the blond who dared call her 'Kirie" instead of her proper name, "For the hundredth time, Arie, it's Kiriel."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. Hey, listen, you came in pretty late night. You mumbled something about waking you up when it was time to leave, but maybe you should stay home for today and get some more rest."
Kiriel smirks and tugs her lime green beanie over her concerned expression, "You're too cute for your own good, you know that?" she gets up and walks towards the bathroom.
"I'm being serious!"
"So are your cooking skills. Speaking of which, make me some eggs." The bathroom door shuts and the sound of the shower being turned on can be heard.
Arie sighs. Last night Kiriel had stumbled in looking exhausted and worn out in the wee hours of the morning showing clear signs that she had used her 'Seal'. For whatever reason worried her.
She quickly scrambles up two eggs and scoops them on two halves of a bagel slathered with cream cheese. She squishes them together knowing her friend wouldn’t have time to eat at home. After Kiriel is done freshening up she mutters a quick thank you and they leave their small apartment, locking the door behind them.
They walk down the streets of the already active small town they decided to reside in in silence while Kiriel munches on her breakfast. While waiting at a crosswalk four upperclassmen run by them, knocking Kiriel’s egg bagel out of her hands. She shouts an angry insult at them not meant for children’s ears.
“What do suppose they’re running from?” Arie wonders out loud.
Kiriel scoffs, “Why should I care?”
They hear one more person coming from the direction the others had came in and turn to see a brunette with angry brown eyes and a scowl on his face; battle wounds all over his body. “Hi Lee!” Arie chirps.
He glares at her, “Do I look Chinese to you? My name is not Lee, not Leonardo, it’s Leo! Get it right, 'Seal'. How come this light isn’t turning?”
“Well someone’s in a bad mood.” Kiriel observes, “You just got here and you’re already complaining.”
He growls and gets in her face too, “You can shut that trap of your’s as well! I just got freak’n jumped for crying out loud!”
“Not my problem.”
“Well, if the light isn’t going to turn then I’m going anyway.” He cuts across an in coming car and makes it stop abruptly. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” he snaps at the honking driver. The girls exchange glances and Kiriel shrugs, following her angry friend with Arie not to far behind. They arrive at school with Leo still in a huff about what happened.
Class starts with the teacher handing out bell ringers while the class socializes with each other. Kiriel’s fatigue catches up with her and she ends up resting her head on her desk and falling asleep. Leo throws an easer cap at Arie to bring this to her attention. She then explains to him how she didn’t come home until early this morning and expresses her concerns.
“Pfft, probably more 'Seal' hunters.” Leo says, making Arie’s worry depend, “Relax, if she’s still here then it must have been nothing she couldn’t handle." Arie agrees with him, but it doesn’t calm her fretting.
Just as the teacher is about to start her lesson, a hall monitor calls her into the hallway. The students mumble amongst themselves excitedly. When the teacher comes back, it's with a boy about the same height as Leo but with a leaner build and fairer skin. Pure white hair falls a little pass his ears and deep purple eyes sweep over the crowd of students looking back curiously. “Class, we have another surprise new student." Whispers break out amongst them.
Two week into the first quarter, Kiriel and Arie (known to the school as Tatiana and Marigold) had suddenly appeared from seemingly no where. Leo immediately knew they were 'Seals'; however, it took the girls a while to figure out that he was a ‘Charm’. Now it’s the beginning of third quarter and another mysterious person had fallen out of the sky.
“Why don’t you introduce yourself while I find you a seat?” the teachers suggests.
“Alright,” the boy chirps merrily, “My name is Sebastian Darktame but I’m known to some as Descore. Please treat me well.” that sets alarms off in Arie’s and Leo’s heads.
“Descord? Well that’s an interesting name.” the teacher comments.
“Yeah, it’s my middle name. It’s suppose to be German or something.”
“Oh really? Interesting. You can have the seat behind Tatiana. Tatiana, please raise your hand. Tatiana?”
Leo kicks Kiriel’s desk and she jumps to her feet as a result. She ends up slipping on something though, and ends up on the floor. The class laughs while the teacher shakes her head in disapproval.
“Need a hand?” she looks up to find an unfamiliar smiling face hovering over her. She eyes him suspiciously as she reaches up to grab the hand he’s offering to her. Just as she’s about to touch him, a jolt runs through their hands and they quickly retract them. It’s simple physics really. When two equally charged objects tries to interact with one another, they are repelled away from each other. Similar to magnets.
“I can get up myself, thank you.” Kiriel snaps, climbing to her feet without any assistance to prove her point.
“Ah, yeah.” Sebastian says awkwardly with an equally awkward chuckle. He then take a seat behind her. Leo’s eyes dart between the two trying to piece together what had just happened.
“I don’t like him.” he later declares as the three walks to their next class together.
“You shouldn’t be so quick to judge.” Arie replies.
“You saw what happened when he tried to touch Kiriel!”
“That’s because both she and Descore exert negatively charged energy. When they almost touched, both felt the need to draw back because their energy, or aura as some people like to call it, collided.”
“I don’t trust him.” Kiriel declares, “There’s something off about him. He seems too marry-go-lucky to have a negatively charged aura.”
“I agree.” grunts Leo.
