My Sweet Fledgling

1) Excuse Me, What?

So, I rewrote this and changed the time period. Dean is twenty and Sam is sixteen so it's before the show started. And Castiel is a newborn baby. His 'birthday' is the same day I think he met Dean: September 2 just in 1999, which just so happens to be a Thursday. 😏Just a heads up.
Twenty year old Dean Winchester was just getting back from a supply run when there was a whoosh behind him as he approached the door to his motel room.

"Hello Dean. I've got something for you." Dean turned to see a man standing behind him, holding something in his arms.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Dean demanded, stepping away from him, hand traveling to where his gun was hidden.

"I am Balthazar and I, am an angel. You have been chosen for one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed upon man." Balthazar stated and Dean stared at him.

"Excuse me, what? Angels don't exist! And what honor crap are you talking about?" Dean shouted and the thing Balthazar was holding squirmed a little, letting out a small whine. Dean's eyes widened at it and stared at Balthazar in a panic.
"What is that?" Balthazar stared at Dean. He knew that there were unbelievers but never suspected that the righteous man would be one.

"Angels are real, as I am one standing before you. And you have been chosen to care for a fledgling." Dean took a step back in protest.

"What?! Why me?" Dean demanded, and Balthazar was getting irritated with him.

"Because moron, you're the righteous man. Now take him and do the job we chose for you. Make sure he doesn't die." Balthazar shoved the bundle he was holding into Dean's arms and disappeared when with the blink of an eye. Dean stared at the thing that had been shoved into his arms before turning me and rushing into the motel room.

"Sam, we got a problem." He exclaimed as he put the thing on one of the beds and turned to explain the new situation to his teenage brother.
