I woke up this morning to the smell of oatmeal &' berries coming from the kitchen , silently thanking Rick that I wasn't on breakfast duty today . Instead , I was going on a run with Daryl , Maggie , &' Glenn . I got out of bed , excited to be going out with Daryl today . I have had a crush on him since I first came to this group , so I really loved being around him . I put my jeans on , then my combat boots, then covered my tank top up with my black leather jacket . I brushed my long hair , and walked to the kitchen . "We thought you were going to sleep forever ." Maggie jokingly said with a smile . I walked over &' sat down in my usual seat beside Daryl &' Carol . I almost thought that I saw Daryl smile when I sat beside him but I was probably just excited about going with him today . I was sure he liked Carol . I was the last one to finish eating , so after I was finished , we went outside , ready to go on our run . Today , Maggie &' Glenn decided that they were going to take the truck &' go into a different town . Daryl &' I decided to go to the opposite , maybe we could find more supplies . I hopped on the back of Daryl's bike . "Hold on tight , Zara. Don't need you falling off ." he said . I wrapped my arms tight around his waist as he drove off . I did as he said &' held on tight . This was the best feeling in the world . We finally reached our destination . We found an old convenience store &' decided to check it out first . I made sure the entrance was clear , and I thought it was but it obviously wasn't . A walker ran out &' I dodged it , not realizing that Daryl was behind me &' it went straight to him . He didn't have time to grab his crossbow so I grabbed my knife &' stabbed it right in the brain . Daryl was mad , obviously . "Thought you said it was clear , Zara ." He said , storming away . I grabbed his wrist before realizing what I was doing . I pulled him close to me &' kissed him . Hard .  "I love you , Daryl ." I said , embarrassed &' walking away . This time , he grabbed my wrist . "Zara , I love ye too , I'm sorry for yelling at ye ." He said , with a slight smile . I hugged him real quick &' tight . He hugged back instantly , but you could tell that he still felt super awkward . We got all the supplies that we needed &' headed back to the prison . From then on , Daryl &' I were declared a couple . We even shared a cell together . ❤️
