"Daryl, you can't go out there." I tried pleading with him. "Anything could happen." He sighed, "I don't care woman, why don't ya get that? It's my fault Denise is dead, I should have never took her out there." I was almost in tears, "Daryl, please." He looked at me harshly and walked out the door. I let him get a little bit out the door before I quickly ran after him. "Daryl, wait!" He groaned, "What do you want now, Autumn?" He asked. "I'm not letting you go alone." By then he was angry. "Well I'm sure as hell not letting you go with me." "You can't stop me." He couldn't and he knew that, so he continued to walk as I followed closely behind. We made it to the tracks where Denise was killed. The air had a dense feeling to it, as if it knew what had happened here. I saw someone move from the woods out of the corner of my eye. "Well, well. I see you still haven't learned." Dwight said, walking out of the woods, aiming his gun at Daryl. "And you brought us some pretty fresh meat." He said, smirking at me. I scoffed but didn't say a word. "Don't talk to her like that." Daryl bluntly said. "What are you gonna do about it?" Dwight asked Daryl. Daryl slowly aimed his arrow at Dwight. I could see that Dwight was about to pull his trigger. I looked at Daryl then back at Dwight. He pulled it. I jumped in front of Daryl before the bullet hit him, hitting me instead. "Autumn!" Daryl said, quickly kneeling down beside of me. "You're gonna pay." He spat at Dwight. Dwight laughed, "Pick her up." He said, aiming his gun at Daryl. Daryl picked me up. "Get into the van." He said. Once again, did as told. There was a man waiting in the back of the van. Daryl lied me down on his vest on the ground and sat beside me. Dwight slammed the doors and got in the front of the van and began to drive. It was silent for a moment, as I was bleeding out. Daryl finally realized and tore a piece of his shirt to tighten it around the wound. "I'm so sorry, Autumn." He began to cry. "I knew this would happen, I can't protect anyone." He bawled. I gently touched his hand. "This isn't your fault. I'm going to be okay, I promise. It's not even really bleeding anymore." I half heartedly smiled. He continued to cry, "You should have stayed home." He said. "If I would have stayed home, it would have been you instead." He pulled my head into his lap before I passed out.
"She's waking up." I could hear someone say. My eyes slowly fluttered open. "I'm so happy your okay." Daryl said, rushing to my side. "Are we back in Alexandria?" I asked. Daryl nodded, "Rick and Abraham came and stopped the van." He said, holding my hand. "Thank you." I looked at him and said. "For what?" He asked. "For not stopping me." He smiled and slowly bent down to kiss me. "I love you, Autumn." ❤️
