The Phone Call

Today was it. Today was the day that we moved out to Mako to be with the Pod. I was really nervous because I was scared of what all would happen to us if people realized that we were the mermaids from the news. When we were just about to leave I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. It was Ava. 

Me- "Hello"

Ava- "Hey Niki"  

Me- "Ava want do you want, I'm getting ready to move."

Ava- "I wanted to be sure you were okay" 

Me- "Well I figured you wouldn't want to talk to the school fish freak" 

Ava- "Well the fish freak is my friend and I really care about you, I'm really sorry for not sticking up for you when all of that stuff happened a few days ago" 

Me- "Well I honestly dont know if I can forgive you because of this whole situation I am moving to live with the Pod at Mako" 

Ava- "Niki, I never meant for any of this to happen, we have been really good friends forever and when you were exposed I was scared about them finding out about me too, please forgive me Niki." 

Me- "I will forgive you, but I honestly dont know if we can still be friends and when I move to the Pod I will not be able to come onto the land again" 

Ava-" Oh no Niki I am so sorry" 

Niki- "It's not your fault it's mine for screwing everything up" 

I said as I slammed down the phone down. Ava probably had good intentions when she called me but the call from her made me even more mad about everything that had happened to me. I put my phone on the coffee table and went up to my room to grab a few more things. As I grabbed the last few things I saw a necklace on my floor that had the same stone as the moon rings did. I picked it up and put it around my neck. I looked down at the stone and saw it turn a deep blue color. What dose this mean? I thought as I looked down at my necklace. 

"Niki come on lets go!"

 I heard Rikki scream form down stairs as I picked up the last box. I walked down the stars with the box in my hand and I grabbed the phone of o the coffee table and walked out the door as my Aunt closed the door behind me. I was kinda sad to be moving to the Pod because living on the land was all I had ever known. The Pod would be a huge change for me. I was ready for change. Change was what I needed. As we drove down the road to the salvation army to drop off all of our stuff I reflected on how many memories I had in our old home. I truly was going to miss it but I knew that we were moving for my own good. Besides most land people were rude anyways. We arrived at the salvation army and I helped Aunt Rikki take all of our stuff inside to be donated. As we walked out of the salvation army Rikki gave me a hug and told me everything was going to be okay. We walked back to the car and drove to Rita's house to Meet with Rita, Lyla, Nixie and Serena. Once we were at Rita's house we went down the the grotto to meet with them. 

"Hey Niki" said Serena 

"Hey Serena" I said as I walked by her "Do you know were Rita is?" I asked her

"She is in the water pool, down the stairs to the left" said Serena as she pointed toward the staircase 

''Thanks" I said as I walked down the stairs 

"Hey Rita" I said 

"Hey Niki! How are you?" asked Rita 

"I'm alright, I'm just kinda nervous on what the Pod will be like" I said as I sat down at the edge 

"Well when I was about 17 was when I left the Pod and I remember it being very fun and interesting, your in the water all day and you are not allowed to go onto land. You will also got to Mer school where you will learn to master more powers, I think you will like it a lot." said Rita 

"Oh Okay, I was just wondering" I said 

"It's time for us to go, can you get all the other girls ready" asked Rita 

"I will" I said as I walked out of the room 

"It's time to go guys! Meet in the pool" I yelled through the grotto 

"We will be there in about 5 minutes" yelled Nixie back

"Okay" I screamed back 

While I was waiting on the I decided to go ahead and get in to the pool and get ready to leave.  A few minutes past and then Nixie, Lyla and Serena cam down into the pool. 

"It's time" said Rita 

"Lets go" said Lyla as we all swam out towards Mako
