My grandma came out of nowhere, slashing the beast in half with a powerful blow of her spear. The beast vanished right before my eyes... Literally. The huge monster was just about to slash my eyes out!
I look over to my grandma, eyes wide. "Are you ok," she ask me. I shake my head and then nod, not really knowing what my answer should be.
Jacob and my grandma helped me up, with looks on their face like nothing happened. I'm truly shaken up when we enter the shimmery force field.
I see children fighting with REAL WEAPONS, teens herding Pegasus and cleaning armor. Huge cabins with strange designs are in a row with many people in front of them. "This... Can not be real!" I say to no one in particular. I glance around me, taking in my surroundings. "This can not be happening!" I don't understand... This is my camp? My new home?
A figure comes towards me. The top half is a man, the bottom is a horse. I gasp and the man-horse waves off my last remainder of my old life. My grandma walks away with Jacob. I turn around once more to get a full look, as if I could take one more glance and everything would make sense. Of course, it didn't.
"I'm Chiron, welcome to Camp Half-Blood!" The man-horse, Chiron introduced.
"I-I... My name is Caleigh," I tell him. I don't know wether to say something else, after all, he is a stranger... To me at least. A lot of the kids wave as they pass by us. I nod back at them, putting on a weak smile.
"Here, let me take you to the Athena cabin," Chiron told me in a calm voice.
I followed him to a cabin full of girls and boys. They waved and some said hi to me as I passed them. Chiron took me to a boy with chocolate brown eyes and ruffled brown hair."Hey, I-I" the boy started. He looked up to me as he stuttered. "I-My name is hi, Jeffory" he said. I gave him a confused look. "I MEAN, My name is Jeffory, hi... Heh heh" the boy, Jeffory said once more.
"I'm Caleigh," I responded. We just stared at each other for moment, then I got a bit uncomfortable...
This just when a girl with curly brown hair and brown eyes with purple glasses pops out of nowhere! Her purple shirt ripples as she moves. I stepped back a little in surprise. "Hey! I'm Reese, daughter of Athena!" She announced.
I laughed, "I am Caleigh, not a daughter of Athena." Reese eyes me with confusion while Jeffory hadn't seemed to be out of his daze. I considered punching him back into sense, but Reese interrupted my thoughts.
"Then... why are you here? Not to be rude, but this is the ATHENA cabin!" Reese said. I nodded.
"I know. Some guy... some man-horse named Chiron escorted me here..." I looked down at my feet. All of a sudden, Reese's face lit up with understanding. It was my turn to be confused.
Reese whispered, "Ohhh... so... y-you don't think any of this is real?!"
"NO, no! I learned that lesson long ago (Like yesterday)... My GRANDMA is a child of Athena apparently..." I replied.
Reese looked confused, but she gave a smile, I knew was fake. Reese then turned towards Jeffory and shoved him. "ACK!" Jeffery gave out a yell. All Reese did was smile, "Lucky for you, Head Counselor of Athena Cabin likes you." She walked off laughing, leaving me to be the one now confused.
When Jeffory saw me again, he went back into his daze. Could I just shove him too, I think. I decide not to, it might be rude... I spoke up, "Sooo... Um, am I just supposed to take a bed? I've never been to camp before."
Jeffory nodded, clearing his throat, "*Ahem* Right, so you can take any free bed. Make yourself at home. Oh and welcome to the Athena Cabin! Come to me if you have any questions." Then, he added, "Any questions at all!" With a beaming smile he walked of in the direction of a few desks with some kids around it and started talking.
Welp... Guess I'm stuck here...
