The bell rings and everybody, including me, jumps up from our seats and rushes to the door, despite the teacher shouting at us about the bell not dismissing us. It's last period and I'm so happy that school is over, it's still only Monday, and yet it feels like it should be Thursday at least. I make my way through the flood of students to my locker, I take the things I need and slam it shut. That felt satisfying.
"Why hello there..." I hear Jacob say from behind me, I turn around, I can already tell that he wants to say something so I reply quickly,
"Hey!"
"Do you want to come over to mine today?" He says flicking his head back so that his hair is no longer covering his eyes
"Yeah sure!" I reply, then add "Is Alex coming too?"
"Well, I was going to ask him, but I can't find him...again" He says frowning a little, I can't help but remember what happened last time we looked for him, he was kissing Queen Bee and called me a bitch. But then Jacob held my hand all the way home, wait, I shouldn't be focusing on that!
"We can just text him where we are, then he can come when he's ready" I suggest, proud of my brilliant idea
"Yeah!" He says nodding his head, "Shall we get going?" He asks
"Yep" I nod my head and fall into step with him
We get outside and I look up at the clouds, they are completely covering the sky like a dark grey blanket. I hear a rumble and look at the sky, but then look at Jacob and his red face and realise he was the culprit.
"Hungry?" I ask chuckling as he turns even redder
"You could say that, do you mind if we stop at a McDonald's on the way?" He muttered
"No of course not!" I say quickly, "but only if you buy me something..." I slyly mention
He sighs and then says "Fine, but we better be quick before it rains"
We arrive at the McDonald's and he holds open the door for me, I mumble a "Thanks" and head inside, we go up to the counter.
"What would you like?" Jacob asks
"Ummm, ooh! A sweet chilli chicken wrap please!" I jump up and down and he laughs
"You're like a little kid" He shakes his head slowly looking down at me
"Puh-lease, I AM a little kid!" I say in a high voice
He doesn't get a chance to reply as it is our turn to be served, he orders himself a big mac, large fries and a large coke. I laugh at his huge order, if I tried to eat that I'd get halfway through the burger and be full, I probably won't even finish my wrap. We grab our food and Jacob leads us to a booth with a view outside.
"What's your favourite colour?"
"Huh?" I turn my head from looking out the window to see Jacob's green eyes scanning my face
"What's your favourite colour?" He repeats, I laugh a little
"Why?" I question shyly
"Ugh, does it matter?" He teases, grinning at me, showcasing his perfectly white teeth
"No, I guess not, my favourite colour is... black or grey, yours?" I say playing with my hair
"Dark blue" He smiles "Favourite food?"
I hold up my wrap in reply "Or Chinese food, you?"
"Pizza!" He exclaims excitedly and I scrunch up my nose "What?" He asks noticing my face
