Gabriel is sleeping peacefully, dreaming happily about his glorious boyfriend. That is until he's shaken awake and a soft voice is calling his name.
"Gabe," Sam whispers.
"What?" Gabriel groans in a sleepy voice.
"There's someone in the house." Sam says in a worried tone.
"What?" Gabriel sits up suddenly.
"Shh, someone is in the house, I saw them." Sam whispers.
"Are you sure?" Gabriel whispers back.
"Yes, just a minute ago I saw someone pass the doorway." Sam looks over at the opened bedroom door. "I'm gonna go check it out." He moves to get up.
"No!" Gabriel grabs his arm pulling him back. "Stay here, we will just call 911." Gabriel grabs his phone.
"911 what's your emergency?" A pleasant woman's voice flows through the phone.
"I think there's someone in my house." Gabriel murmurs.
"Okay sir, stay calm, what's happened?" She asks.
"My boyfriend just woke me up telling me he saw someone in my house." Gabriel explains quietly.
"Okay, stay where you are and tell me your name and address. I will dispatch a unit to your location." She says calmly. He rattles off his address and hangs up.
Sam wraps his arms around Gabe and holds him tightly. They listen for any sound of an intruder, though the house is silent. Gabriel is terrified, though with Sam close to him, he feels safe.
Finally red and blue lights shine through the windows. A loud pounding sounds at the front door. Gabriel grabs Sam's arm as they move through the house to the front door. As try go they turn on all the lights.
Gabriel unlocks and opens the front door revealing two uniformed men.
"Gabriel Novak?" The older officer asks.
"Yes." Gabriel nods.
"Can we come in and search the premises?" The younger one asks.
"Please," Gabriel steps aside. They walk around looking through the house. After a little bit they return to Sam and Gabriel.
"All the windows and doors are all locked and nothing seems to be broken. Are you sure there was an intruder?" The older one asks.
"I'm absolutely sure, I saw someone walk past the doorway." Sam says.
"Well there seems to be no way of entry, unless they locked the door after they left." The younger one snickers.
"How polite of them." Gabriel responds snarkily. "Can't you double check, make sure there is for sure no one?"
"If there was anyone I'm sure they're gone now, so you two can go back to bed." The officers nod and leave. Gabriel scopes his house trying to see if anything is missing, but everything seems to be in it's proper place. After he triple checks the locks on all the doors and windows, he finally takes Sam back to his room. Though he leaves all the lights on. While he had been searching his house, Sam had gotten a bat from his garage.
"Go to sleep, you don't have to worry now." Sam caresses Gabriel's hair.
"Yeah nothing to worry about when there was an intruder in my home. Most likely to kill us in our sleep." He grumbles.
"I wouldn't let anyone hurt you." Sam says protectively. Gabriel leans against Sam though sleep is the last thing on his mind. He can't believe something like this happened.
It is a long time before he can fall asleep. Only when the sun starts to rise do his eyes finally drift shut. Sam on the other hand stays awake, not wanting anything to happen to Gabriel.
It's isn't until after noon, does Gabriel wake up. Sam is not in the bed with him.
"Sam?" Gabriel calls. He pads out of his room.
"In the kitchen!" Sam responds. Gabriel sleepily shuffles into the kitchen where Sam is sitting at the table sipping coffee. He looks tired.
"Did you sleep at all?" Gabriel asks, plopping down on Sam's lap.
"No, I had to make sure nothing would happen." Sam shakes his head.
"Well, I have to head to the shop, get some renovations done, how about you stay here and get some rest." Gabriel suggests. It's been a week since the shop officially became his, the necessary equipment to fix it up have been ordered and delivered. All there is left if for him to get it fixed up.
"I should be there to help you." Sam shakes his head.
"Cas and Dean are coming to help, I'm sure the three of us will be enough. You need rest." Gabriel takes Sam's hand into his.
"Fine," Sam sighs. "Only because you asked so nicely."
"Good," Gabriel gives Sam a suggestion look. "Since you're going to be napping, we will be able to stay up late, if you catch my drift."
"yes, Gabriel, I get it." Sam rolls his eyes with a smile.
"Good, now get that fine ass in bed so we can have sexy time when I get home."
"Oh my God," Sam shoots Gabriel a look. "hurry up and leave." he says in a joking tone. Gabriel grins, giving Sam a quick kiss then skipping out of the house.
Sam waits until he hears the car leave the driveway before standing and heading towards the bedroom. He collapses on the bed, falling asleep almost immediately.
He wakes up sometime later, to a figure standing beside the bed. His eyes barely want to stay open.
"You guys done?" Sam asks with a sigh. Thinking its Gabriel standing there.
"What do you mean?" A soft female voice asks, a voice that most definitely does not belong to Gabriel. Sam's eyes snap open and he sits up, staring at the figure. She looks very familiar, but Sam can't recall where he's seen her before.
"Who the hell are you? How did you get in here?" Sam growls, his eyes frantically searching for the bat be got out earlier, but it's no where to be seen.
"Oh come on, Sam." The woman purrs. "It's me, Ruby, I thought you would recognize me from outside the shop that one time." She pouts slightly.
"I don't know who the hell you are but I suggest you leave before I call the cops." Sam threatens.
"You aren't going to call the cops," Ruby crawls onto the bed, moving to straddle Sam's lap.
"Get the hell off me!" Sam tries to push her away, but she is far stronger than she appears.
"No, Sam." She says sternly, her eyes flashing black. Sam suddenly become frozen in fear. She pushes him back down, her face coming down inches from his. "You're cute when you're scared." She strokes his face softly.
"Screw you." Sam growls.
Suddenly a voice shouts from across the house:
"Sammich!! I'm home!" And just like that, Ruby is gone, as if she was never there.
Gabriel comes sauntering in the room.
"Oh, did I wake you up?" he asks in concern.
"no," Sam shakes his head, "I had a weird dream is all."
"Good, I'd hate to make you loose sleep. I brought home pizza come on." Gabriel turns and skips out. Sam stares around in question. It seemed way too real for it to be a dream, but there's no way an normal person can just disappear like that.
For the rest of the day, Sam can't get the incident out of his head.
