chapter 7: by a girl
alex's POV:
the weeks went on but this one week in particular was different.
monday:
i ran into school at 8:10 (school starts at 8). i ran to the office.
"hello miss. cortez forget about school?" mrs.karone said jokingly
"no i overslept" i smiled
she wrote me a late note and excused me "they're in the gym hun" she said
"thanks" i said walking out the door
"have a great day" she yelled after me
i gave her a thumbs up and ran to the gym. i walked into a fundraiser. I sat down next to one of the teachers. after it was over I found my class and found Henry.
"hey" he said
"hey" I said
"there was school to~" I interupted him
"shut up" I joked
we walked back to class and I didn't see aiden?
Tuesday:
today was not my day. I left school early cause I ran a fever.
wed & thurs
I was sick for two more days. after school everyday Henry would come home with my mom and check on me. he was really sweet.
Friday was worst of all. I went into school and did my regular schedule then when I went to pack up I saw aiden kissing one of the popular girls. I was so mad I stopped in my tracks and Henry came up next to me and followed my eyes.
"Alex don't do what I think your gonna do" Henry said but I couldn't help it I walked over to aiden and he almost ran but I tackled him and started punching him there wasn't really anybody out there but everyone was watching and it took 3 teachers and henry to lift me up and get me calm. Henry talked to me and took me to the office with aiden shortly behind. he took me to the principals office then the teachers told him to go back to homeroom.
"Alex Cortez? What is the matter with u? U never get in trouble" the principal said
i just kept my head down. they brought aiden in with a bloody nose. he just stared at me.
"im sor--" he tried to say but i interupted him
"no save it, mrs. karone just suspend me and call my mom if thats whats gonna happen" i said as i buried my face in my hands with my elbows on my knees
mrs. karone patted me on the back. my called my mom and aiden's mom and we were both suspended for a week. my teachers gave me my work for the week i am gonna be out and i went home. when we got to the car i was surprised of my moms reaction.
"alex, im not mad" she said as i looked at her surprised
"your not?" i asked
"nope, u stood up for your self"
we smiled and she drove home.

henry's POV:
alex has had a horrible week she was late monday, left school tuesday, and was out wendesday and thursday. after school her mom would pick me up and take me to her house and i would look after her. then friday was horrible.
we just got out of 5th period and we were going to pack up. alex and i were laughing and joking around then we walked out into the hall and we saw aiden and ashley (one of the popular girls) kissing. i have known alex long enough that she would do something bad.
"alex, dont do it" i said, she started to walk and i went to grab her but she was to quick
aiden saw her coming and almost ran but alex tackled him and started punching him. i ran to alex and lifted her off of aiden. his nose was bloody. i took alex away and calmed her down, i can tell she didnt realise what she did but she was proud of it. i was surprised and proud of it. i took her to the office and they told me to go to homeroom. so i went back to homeroom and went when they called car riders.
i went to alex's house after school and she was sitting down at the creek, i said bye to my mom and ran down there to her. she didnt notice i was there until i sat next to her.
"hey" i said sitting down
"hey" she said
"how long?"
"a week"
"u only got a week? wow thats surprising usually she gives like a month or two i-" she interupted me
"i dont wanna talk about it though" she said "people r gonna be weird around me now"
"what? they r gonna admire u, u beat up a boy" i smiled and elbowed her a little
"yea yea yea" she smiled

alex's POV:
"hey" henry said sitting next to me
"hey" i said
"how long?" he asked
"a week"
"u only got a week? wow thats surprising usually she gives like a month or two i-" i interupted him, i didnt want to talk about it
"i dont wanna talk about it though" i said "people r gonna be weird around me now"
"what? they r gonna admire u, u beat up a boy" he smiled and nudged me
"yea yea yea" i smiled "well so far im bored"
"what about that homework u had?"
"already finished"
"god! r u sure?"
"yea, im a fast worker"
"well Whatcha wanna do?" I asked
"Idk what time is it?"
"uh" I checked my phone "4:05 I have a race at 7"
"ima be there" he said as we got up
"yea I wanna give u something"
we ran to the shed with my four wheeler in it. I pulled the door open and went to get the shirt for Henry.
"here" I said giving him the crew cheif shirt for the pitcrew
"crew chief?" he asked
"yep, if u want it"
"yea" he said with a smile
he gave me a hug and we went in and watched tv and relaxed before the race
