Chapter 21: Remember Back When
Alex's POV:
“happy four year anniversary!” Henry smiles
“ditto” I smile
Henry gave me a hug and then a kiss. Four years, I can’t believe it. We have been together (dating) since 8th grade and I’ve loved every minute of it.
“aww look at the love birds” Jake jokes
Jake walks up with Max, yes Max my best friend, under his arm.
“hey, speak for yourself” I smile an point at them
He looks at her and kisses the top of her head. That happened last year I think?
“well we are gonna leave you two lovebirds to sit around all day” Jake jokes
“goodbye Jake” I smile “bye Max”
Henry grabbed me from behind and rested his head on my shoulder.
“so, for our anniversary tonight I was thinking a movie and dinner?” Henry asks
“as long as I’m with you” I smile
He smiles and kisses my cheek before picking me up and spinning me around playfully.
“well I got to finish the work, then I’ll come get you” he says
He gives me one last kiss before running off onto the farm. Since he is busy I walk to the tree house to find Justin sitting watching a movie.
“hey, Justina” I smile
“hello Lexi” he smiled
I sat down next to him.
“whatcha watchin? I ask
“nothing, just our old football games” he says
I watch some of them, laughing at our mistakes and fake arguing about what the other should have done.
“I can’t believe we are graduating next week” he says
“I know, it feels like just yesterday we were all starting out 8th grade” I stare at the floor
“yep, my little Alex is growing up” he laughs
I laugh “hey your older than me”
He smiled but stared at the floor, he seemed distracted.
“are you ok?” I ask
“uh, yea, kinda, no” he said his smiled disappeared
“what’s wrong?”
“I got accepted to NC State”
“college? That’s good why are you sad?” I asked excitedly
“I leave in two days, that means no graduation trip, no graduation”
I forgot about the graduation trip, Jake, Max, Henry, Justin, Laney and I were going to take this year after graduation.
“oh, well we can still celebrate that your going to college” I suggest
He shrugs “yea I guess”
“come on, we’ll figure something out”
We climb down the ladder and walk back to the house. Jake and Henry were working, while Max was watching.

“ready?” Henry asked me from a different room
“yea” I yell back
I walk out of my room into the living room where Henry was fixing his hair in the mirror, as usual. Over the years he had become protective over his hair, which was really funny.
“who’s driv-” he turns to look at me and stops with surprise on his face
“what? Is something wrong?” I ask
“n…..no just your prettier than ever” he smiled
Relief came over me as I smiled. He took my hand and pulled me outside to his jeep. He opened the door for me as I climbed in, and he drove to a small diner. The diner was a 50’s theme kind of thing and we always came here.
“well if it isn’t my two favorite customers, Alenry! Happy 4 year anniversary” Wanda, our favorite waitress smiled
“well this is our favorite restaurant” Henry smiled
“this was our first date” I add
“ok crazy kids, the usual?” Wanda asks
We nod and soon our food was brought to us. We ate and talked and laughed like normal. Barely anybody was here right now. Henry went to pay the bill but Wanda stopped us.
“its on the house, for your anniversary” she smiled
“thanks Wanda” Henry and I say
“no problem, now go have fun”
“bye Wanda!” we yell on our way out
Henry grabs my hand as we walk to the movie theater down the street.
“I can’t believe we are graduating next week” Henry sighs
“I know, has Justin told you yet?” I ask
“about college, yea. I really wish he could go with us on that trip”
“yep, I can’t believe we’ve been together for 4 years” I smile
He smiles “it was this day four years ago you pushed me up against a tree and kissed me”
We laugh at the memory as we arrive at the theater. We go inside to get our tickets and snacks. We were going to see ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ the newest movie. I wasn’t sure he wanted to go to some chick flick but he insisted. We took our seats in the theater as the movie started.
Ok let me catch you up on the past four years: Jake and Max fell in love during a storm on the farm which Henry and I were separated, he wasn’t in town. Max is going to college at a fashion design school, she leaves next month. Jake still has a year left of school then he’s off to do whatever. Lets see who else? Oh Aiden, he was still cheating and one day he was on his way to meet one of them and got into a car accident. He died instantly. We still have our farm, Henry still works there and now Max helps out.
My football days are over, during my last game a couple months ago I got hurt. Not a bad injury but just an ankle sprain. Then after the game (we won) they threw me a little party. I did get a full scholarship but didn’t take it, stupid I know but football just wasn’t something I could do forever. I did apply for Duke University, my favorite college, but haven’t heard anything yet. Henry got a full scholarship to Harvard, he hasn’t decided yet though.

oh mi gosh i updated this story finally! :) i did fast foward four years just so i had something to work with, hope you guys enjoyed :) im already writing the next chapter
