Chapter Eleven: What Lies Buried Beneath

"You ready there, slow poke?" The blue hedgehog asked with his classic smirk.

"...you, will be dealt with swiftly...." I said whilst adjusting my glove.

      Faker stood idle, rubbing a finger under his nose and shutting his eyes for a moment obviously attempting to "show off" and further crawl under my skin. I seized this opportunity and made my move.

"Chaos control!" I shouted before teleporting behind the blue menace.

"Huh?!" He exclaimed and looked around as he was clearly taken off guard.

    While he scanned the area for me, I took my chance to attack. I took a stance on my right foot, and threw a twist kick.  spinning clockwise as he turned to face me and connected my left foot to his chest with force, caused him to grunt and get knocked backward.

     As the blue hedgehog stumbled back, he smirked and clutched his chest momentarily before standing erect and clinching his fists.

"Heh... Not bad there shad. Bring it on!"  He said as he took his stance.

I lowered my left leg as I assumed my prior stance and began walking towards him, ready to attack him again as I got close. The blue hedgehog's smirk grew wide as his eyes became that of concentrated and firm. He immediately curled himself up, lunging at me and leaving a blue stream of light behind him as he did his spin dash attack. What he had forgotten, is that we both held similar abilities. Seeing this, I quickly had done the same, curling up and dashing towards him. Deep red streams of light trailed behind me as I accelerated towards my target.

    As our attacks collided, elegant sparks with flashes of white and purple put on a show for any and all of it's spectators. The combination of both spin dashes simply repelled one
another, as we were both separated by the force. Both of us acting in almost perfect unison, slid backwards and dug our feet deep into the surface, leaving marks in the grass along our paths. Both rising to our feet and facing each other, tension built as an eerie silence filled the air. Our actions were in such synchronized movements, it was as if you stared into a mirror, and attempted a physical altercation with your reflection.  

     Before long, both of us began to run at one another. As we neared, Faker threw a right hook, backed by his momentum and I, throwing yet another twist kick aimed for his head.
I felt his hand connect with my heel as our attacks again met each other and before I could draw my leg back, faker had gripped my ankle, forcing my leg up higher and sweep kicking my right leg out from under me.  I landed on my back and glared up at him, just as soon as he jumped into the air performing another spin dash. Within seconds, he came hurling downward toward me like a meteor from space. I quickly rolled to my left as he impacted the ground where I once was, leaving a small crater under him.

     I quickly rose to my feet and resumed my stance just as soon as he had thrown a left hook. This hook landed perfect on the right side of my muzzle, creating a small laceration and knocking me back a bit. I quickly regained myself and returned several punches of my own but to no avail, have them blocked. As he attempted a counter with his right hand, I managed to catch it with my left and throw a right handed counter back at him. I was quickly shocked as he had done the same and caught the counter, and gripped it tightly.

    There we stood, locked and glaring fiercely into each other's eyes as blood trickled down from the laceration on my right cheek. We both stood there pushing against one another's arms, trying to force the other back in an attempt to create an opening. Before faker could react, I forced his arms upwards above his head, and performed a reverse roundhouse kick. My left heel, connecting with the left side of his muzzle and knocking him down. Immediately I charged a chaos spear in my right hand and lunged at the now disoriented blue hedgehog.
