/Friends At Heart/

chapter 1

"Okay so what do you like better, the dark blue dress or the hot pink one?" I say, holding up two dresses in front of Jackie.

"I think you'd look good in both of them." She says, putting a chip into her mouth after.

"Aw come on, give me something to work with. I want to impress his parents!" I say with a playful whine as I throw myself onto my bed.

"Avery, Liam's parents are going to love you no matter what." She says, pushing me off of her.

"Yeah but you know they're upperclass. What if they don't think I'm good enough for their son? What if his parents are snobby rich parents that you see in the movies?" I say with a small pout.

"You're thinking about it way too much. Look, no matter what, You love Liam and Liam loves you." She says, hugging me.

"Thank you and I know I'm just so nervous." I say as I hug her back. "I'm going with the dark blue one." I say.

"Okay. Don't worry about it." She says. "Now what to watch on netflix?"

6th period, the next day.

"So I got you something" Liam says to me with a little smile.

"Ooh what is it?" I say, wiggling my eyebrows in a funny way.

"Well since you are coming to see my parents-" he stops talking and hands me a black box. "I want you to wear this. I mean you don't have to, I-" I cut him off. "It's beautiful" I say. The box contained a beautiful white crystal necklace. It was perfect.

"Good." He says with a smile and then kisses me on the cheek. "Wanna go to the movies after this? We can see whatever you want." He says with his head on my shoulder. Oh no, me and Jackie were going to hang out today.. She'll understand right?

"Yeah of course." I say giving him a smile as he sits up in his seat.

"No talking, get to work!" Ms. Fettun says, obviously talking to us.

I look down and begin to write down my notes. This is going to be a long 6th period.

I enter Liam's car. "She did not." I say to him with a surprised expression on my face. "She did. I was like, oh my gosh, Mrs. Rennel!" He says while bursting out laughing.

"So, what movie do you want to watch?" He says as he starts the car.

"I don't know, have you seen Allegiant yet?" I question him. "Nope. We can see it if you want." He says.

"Yeah, lets watch it." I say and smile, then I look down to my phone because I got a text. Please don't be Jackie, she's probably beyond mad..

Ms. Joel: Hey Avery, I'm gonna need you to stop by the dance studio tommorow night.

Me: Why, what happened?

Ms. Joel: You need to learn this competition dance ASAP. Rebecca wasn't feeling well and isn't going to be dancing.

Me: I have really important plans tommorow Ms. Joel. Remember Liam? I'm meeting his parents!

Ms. Joel: Avery I know I let you not compete this week but we absolutely need you. We can't find anyone else.

Me: I don't know. I'm sorry Ms. Joel, but Liam is important to me.

Ms. Joel: Well I just hope you make the right decision to come tomorrow. Have a good night.

I turn off my phone and glance at Liam. "We're almost there probably like 5 more minutes." He says. "Okay."

I don't know what to do. We've been planning for me to meet his parents for weeks, but I am a competitive dancer and my team needs me. I just hope I make the right decision.
