So far the dinner has been a success and Liam's parents seem to love Avery. I signal her a thumbs up and she smiles back at me. Derek looks at me and says "I'll be right back." Avery and Liam look at me in confusion and I just shrugged and we all continued eating.

"So Jackie, what's up with you and Derek?" Mrs. Sennen asked me with smirk. I choked on my drink and as soon as I calmed down I replied with a calm tone. "What do you mean Mrs. Sennen?" She giggles and replies," please call me Julia."

"What I mean is how long have you and Derek been hanging out?" She replies with curiousity. All of a sudden I felt super embarrassed. Why was I feeling embarrassed over a boy I just met today? "We haven't really hung out a lot, I just met him today and we had a little chat." "Oh," Julia replies and she has a look of disappointment on her face.

"You see I was hoping Derek got over his formal girlfriend.." Julia replies in a frown. I felt those words pierce through my soul. He had a girlfriend. "How long did they date and what happened?" I asked her. " Derek and Tina were dating for 2 years but then Derek walked in on Sebastian and Tina having.." "Oh that's awful." I interrupted before she could say the last word. "That's horrible!" Avery shouted. It must suck to be in a relationship for a really long time and then you find your girlfriend with another man.

"Yeah, but he's slowly getting over it, he told me he never wanted to end up in a relationship with another girl again." I flinched at Julia's words But I respect Derek's choice.

All of a sudden we all hear a piano playing from the other room. "What's going on?" Avery asks confused. "Derek's practicing his piano again," Liam said. I got up and walked to the room next door. I opened the door and as soon as I entered the room the whole room was filled with the beautiful melody he played.

His fingers gracefully played every key and once he saw me he stopped and smiled at me. "Any recommendations?" He smiled. I shook my head and he replied with his smooth silky voice," I think I know a long you'll love." He started playing "Angels and Demons," by Melissa Otero.

I gasped in shock and as he played the beginning notes, his fingers gracefully danced around this keys. Soon when it got to the lyrics I couldn't help myself and I started to sing along. My voice was smooth and graceful as I sang every word with ease.

Derek looked at me and he smiled as he continued to play the notes on the piano. I smiled and I continued to sing.

I nailed the last word and once I was done singing the lyrics, Derek played the few last notes and we were both done. We both smiled at each other and stared at each other for ten seconds. All of a sudden we were both snapped out of out thoughts as we heard clapping. We both turned around and we saw Mr. and Mrs. Sennen along with Liam and Avery clapping and cheering.
