Okay so even though I was supposed to have the whole day off I had to go work at newspaper from 10 to 5 but I wrote this chapter just for you before I get to my homework. And it is dedicated to ShiznitzGirl for giving me an awesome nick name for Valentin. Enjoy!

Chapter 28

Date: March 13th

Time: 11:02 p.m.

Location: In alley next to apartment complex

I stood still my heart beating in my throat and tried to sink in the wall. Only I would be standing at knife point next to my apartment building. I must have extremely bad luck or something to always be put in these situations. Just once I would like to see Fran or Iris in a life or death situation.

The knife is pressed harder against my throat and I push my body back into the cold chipped cement wall of the building. It scraped my back but I would rather have that then have a knife at my neck. I couldn’t see the man’s face because of the lack of light.

I knew it was a guy because of his voice. He was tall and looked to have hair that reached down to his chin. His eyes were a mysterious cover and I’m assuming he’s well built for being able to slam me into the wall so easily.

“You know you’ve been causing me a lot of trouble.” He said in a velvety slightly familiar voice.

“What?” I sputter out. “How have I caused you any trouble I don’t even know you?!” The blade is pressed harder against my throat and I feel a wetness crawl down my neck.

“Be quiet.” He hisses. My heart pounds so loud I was hoping the others could hear it.

“Who are you?”

“You’re killer.” The blade is pressed even harder and the wetness starts to increase. I’m getting dizzy and actual pain starts to register in my mind. He steps so close our bodies are almost touching and leans down to look me in the eyes. “Anything you would like to say?”

“Get off of her!” A voice screamed and my attacker was pushed off of me.

Two hands grabbed my arm and tried to yank me back but I stood firmly in my place watching the two guys go at it. One of them was John and the other was my attacker, who was still a mystery to me. Why would he try and kill me?

The attacker punches John in the eye and makes another lightning quick punch to his gut. He is moving so fast that his motions are almost blurred. Black dots start to color my vision but I push them back. Why was the attacker doing this? What had we done to him? What connected our problems to his?

“Aura let’s go.” Fran said urgently pulling me back looking concerned at my neck. I would most likely have another scar there. “Aura.”

“It’s him.” I say in an entranced voice before looking Fran in the eye. “It’s him.”

“Okay I think she has lost a little too much blood.” Iris says reaching to get me.

“Iris its Valentin.” The words made her freeze and they look back to the two men fighting, my attacker, Valentin, obviously having the upper hand. What assassin wouldn’t?

“John!” Iris screams trying to stop the two men from fighting without actually getting into it; she must really value her life. “Valentin! V!” She screams even louder.
