Chapter 12

Cody's P.O.V

I don't know who she thinks she is but I don't care. She threw the first swing. I lifted my leg kicking her side. She put her hand on the area I hit then shot her head up to me.

She dashed away to a room.

"Mmmhh hhm mm hhmm hmm!" Sody yelled through the duck tape. "One sec." He said removing the duck tape ripping out some hair. "I said." She stated "she's getting a gun!" Just then we heard a gun being loaded.

"Hands up!" She yelled aiming the gun at me. At least it wasn't at Sody. I lifted my hands up carefully. Slowly slipping the pocket knife from my pocket strategically so she couldn't tell.

"What's in your hand?" The gun moved a little as she talked. "I'll ask you the same." I said and she scowled "a gun what does it look like?!"

"Niki what are you doing?" Sody cried. My chest hardened at the sound of Sodys whimpers. All I wanted to do was stop that dreadful sound from escaping her lips. A kiss couldn't stop it now, not at the moment.

"What happened with Hunter?"

"I didn't really dump my babe." She looked back and out of the shadows appeared Hunter. And Garrett. With the blond babe.

"Garrett." Sody choked out. "Hey babe." He replied.

"H....h....hey." Was all she could respond. "Give me the Gun." Garrett said snatching it from Nikis hands. "Careful! You fire on her I break you!" Hunter warned. Niki looked at him with glistening eyes.

Garrett aimed the gun at Cody relentlessly. "I should've known something was up when you hit me without care." Garrett snarled to me.

"Garrett!" Sodys voice cried. "What is going on?"

"I want you Savannah. And your what I'll get. I always get what I want."

"Not this time!" I heard myself say. Savannah looked at me. "Cody?" I ignored her but Garrett's face was strong. He was stronger than me.

"You messed with the wrong girl." Garrett warned "I stole her from you once and I'll do it again."

Then Hunter balled up his hand and punched Garrett. He hit him in the neck sending him to the ground. The boom from the gun rang in my ears shaking the floor.

Savannah screamed as the bullet flew beside us smashing the wall. "What the fuck!" Garrett yelled as Hunter sat on Garrett's side and snatched the gun from his pinned down body. Hunter pinned Garret's arms down and I took my chance.

I raced to untie Savannah. Cutting every rope with my knife. Niki just watched as I snatched Savannah's hand and ran. I ran her out of that house through the open window. To my car.

I drove us normally. The speed limit, trying to stay relaxed. My heart was pounding. Savannah was the only thing I cared about.

"Cody." She said "thanks for saving me." I smiled "anytime."

"But," she began "I don't love you. You are a great friend to me. One of the best. Actually you are my best friend right now. My life isn't going great and I don't know how I feel. I don't understand."

I swallowed hard. "Okay." I choked out. "Where's your place? I'll drop you off." I was originally going to take her to my house to make out but she seemed like she wanted to go home.

"Take a left there then go straight towards Heavenly (the smoothie place) take a left at the light and keep going on North Peninsula until I tell you to turn." She ordered. I nodded and did as told until she directed me to her house.
