"Be quiet," I laugh and push Bobbie who is shaking with laughter.

"No way," she giggles. "This is gold."

I laugh too, feeling the amount of stupidity I felt at one time.

"I hate you-"

"Can I see you, Jacey?" Hunter's voice suddenly fills the room causing us both to stop laughing.

He's leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed and angered eyes. Wonder what's up with him?

"Yeah," I say quietly and get off of Bobbie's bed.

"Have fun," Bobbie sing-songs making me turn around and glare at her playfully.

When I make it to Hunter, I smile at him, but he just keeps a straight face and starts walking in the direction of his room.

"Follow me." Something is definitely up his ass. Isn't there always, though?

I walk behind him down the long corridor, keeping my eyes on his back until we get to his room. He closes the door behind me while I stand in the middle of the room, waiting for an explanation.

"What's up?" I ask, when he keeps his back to me. "Hunter?"

He turns around, looking troubled. Hunter is always certain about things so seeing him like this now, is shocking.

"Would you ever get back with Nixon?" Are you kidding? I thought I already went over this with him. Why is he asking again?

"I already told you-"

"No you didn't," he shakes his head. "You said you wanted me, never said that you wouldn't get back with Nixon." True. But I thought what I said would erase that superstition.

"No, Hunter," I take a step closer to him. "I won't ever get back together with Nixon. Not after you."

My words don't erase the look of hesitance on his face. He looks worried, stressed and irritated. Whoever made him doubt my feeling for him is about to get an ass kicking from me.

"What's wrong?" I ask. "Did someone say something to you...?"

He shakes his head, walking past me and towards his dresser.

"It's nothing," he says and grabs a watch off a box.

"It is something," I scowl, crossing my arms over my chest. "Why won't you just tell me?"

"I said it was nothing, Jacey," he snaps and starts walking towards the door, but I'm faster than him. I block the exit of the room, glaring at him. "Move."

"Not until you tell me what has you so pissed," I snootily respond, one of my eyebrows raised.

"Why are you so annoying?" He growls, running a hand through his hair.

"I'm only annoying when I'm worried about somebody," I soften my voice.

If Hunter and I could ever work, we need to be honest with each other. I know he said he doesn't do relationships, but that can always change. Especially after last night. I need to know that I can count on him to tell me the truth. That's all.

"Fucking hell," he mumbles and takes a step closer so he's looking down at me. "Nixon stills wants you, okay? I wanted to know that he's just spouting out bullshit, that you won't go back to him."

Oh. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Nixon still wants me? Why? I cheated on him with his cousin, a number one fear of his. How can he possibly still want me after that?

"Why would I go back to him? Huh?" I question, looking intently into his eyes.

"Because!" He shouts, making me jump. "I'm going to mess up one of these days and he's going to somehow take you away from me."
