After spotting your old wolf hat you pulled out the redish brown material and placed it on your head. A few specks of dust fell off of it causing you to sneeze. "Thank god it still fits and is still in decent shape." You muttered while searching futher into the closet throwing the wolf hat no the bed. After countless minutes you found what you were looking for. Pulling out a box and placing it on your desk, you pried off the lid to reveal a jumble of fabrics and materials. The first thing to catch your eye was a red sash. Running your hand slowly across the silky strip you let out a sigh as you threw it on the bed. After another 10 minutes of searching through your room and the box you turned to your bed where a pile of things that could be used as an outfit were laying. Removing you jeans and your shirt you pulled on a pair of brown leggings and a dark green shirt. You then pulled two belts over your chest creating an X shape on your chest and back. Breathing in a long breath to check the belts weren't to tight you picked up the two shoulder pads you had from your archery lessons when you were yonger. Looking down at them brought back memories of your first lessons and the first person you met that you could actually call friend. (the lessons were when you were seven and before you were really true friends with the boys)
~Flashback~
"Come on Miss Slow if you don't hurry we won't know what we're doing today!" Your friend (f/n) called to you as she tapped her foot impatiently. "You go on ahead it's not like I'll be long." You said whilst tying up the strings on your shoulder pads and making sure your fingerless gloves were fitting properly. (f/n) huffed and grabbed your arm as you began to stand and dragging you with her giving you only a second to grab your bow and quiver full of arrows. "What and leave my best friend behind? Hah no chance of it (y/n). Now come on!" After practically being dragged along the dirt path you caught sight of the rest of your class standing and waiting for the instructor to arrive. "Wow looks like we're early for once." (f/n) said as she gazed around. You and (f/n) had a track record of arriving later than everyone else, even the teacher, so it was a shock to everyone that the two of you arrived before the teacher. "You mean you practically threw me out of the door and nearly killed me dragging me down the dirt path for us to be early? Come on you broke our habit of being late!" You said as you bent over to catch your breath.
The instructor turned up a few minutes later and saw that the two of you were there early for once. Giving (f/n) an apologetic smile he then went on to telling the rest of the group what you would be doing that lesson. You, being you of course, didn't listen as it was always the same thing. Instead you turned towards (f/n) and raised a quizzical eyebrow at her before poking her hard in the arm. She let out a muffled "ow" as she snapped her head to face you. "What was that for?" She demanded as she tried her best to scowl at you. You simply rolled your eyes before returning to look at her "Why did the teacher give you a look as if he was sorry? Is he having an affair with your mum?" You asked the last part very sarcastically. "I-what no!" (f/n) glared at you as you tried to hold in a laugh, she sighed and started walking with the group but hung back to talk to you "I-boy this is difficult to say. Umm (y/n) the teacher gave me that look because umm this is going to be my final lesson. I'm umm... My dad got a new job somewhere else and said that we have to move away from South Park." She looked up at you and saw your face frozen in a pained and shocked expression. In that moment of silence you felt a pain in your chest as you felt your heart breaking. "I- b-but w-why?" Was all you managed to get out, trying to hold in the sobs and tears as they threatened to spill. (f/n) just shook her head and trotted up to the front of the group seeing a few tears escape her own eyes as she did.
-----The next day-----
You stood there watching as the movers packed everything into the truck. You raised your head ever so slightly when you saw (f/n) and her family walk out of their now empty house. As her family said goodbye to some of their friends (f/n) came up to you and engulfed you into a very teary hug. After a moment of standing there holding each other you both pulled back and saw the other crying silent tears. "I wanted y-you to h-have this. A-after all I-I won't b-be needing it anymore." (f/n) said in between sobs as she handed you a box. Watching you carefully she saw you open the box and let your mouth hang open. In the box was her bow and quiver full of arrows. Looking back up at her you put on a watery smile before hugging her so tight all the air was knocked out of her. Just then the honking of a car made the two of you jump. (f/n) gave you one last hug and whispered her goodbyes to you. "Bye (y/n). Remember to keep my bow and quiver safe for me. And remember you'll always be my best friend." She pulled away and hopped into the car. Leaning out the window she waved as the car drove off. You waved back shouting your final goodbyes and thank you's to her. Once the car was out of sight you sadly picked up the box and made your way back to your house with your parents. That was the last time you ever saw her again.
~End of the flashback~
After placing on the shoulder pads you tied the red sash around your waist letting some of the material hang loose and fly out at the ends. Finding out a black travellers cloak you tied that around your neck and then you placed a silver pendant in the shape of a wolf head over that. Finding out a pair of brown fur lined boots and pulling them on you placed the wolf hat over your head. Thinking for a second you quickly dug out a black scarf you had and teid that ove the bottom half of your face. Covering you mouth and the end of nose you looked yourself over in the mirror before pulling out (f/n)'s bow and quiver. Dumping her arrows in the box you replaced them with your own not wanting to loose part of her memory. Opening your door you went down the stairs gratefull that your parents were in the kitchen you silently made your way down to the basement of your house. Digging around a few boxes you finally found what you were looking for, a recreation of a medieval sword. Made out of stainless steel with a nice shiny emerald encrusted into the hilt of the blade. Gazing down at the sword in awe you quickly found its case and placed that underneath the belt straps on your back. Placing the sword in the case you continued to search through the boxes until you found your father's famous bone dagger. It was made very well out of a bone of who knows what but it was very deadly. (No before anyone says the parents are not killers they just collected swords and stuff)
Placing the dagger in a secure position under one of the belts you made your way back upstairs. Heading for the front door you called out to your parents "Mum, dad I'm going out to meet the others. They said the have this new roll playing game they want me to play with them." "Ok sweetie just be back before dark and make sure to look after whatever they give you." Was all you heard before rushing out of your house. Thinking to yourself you suddenly had no idea what you were doing "I just took actual weapons form my house, dressed up like the others and now where to begin. I could always go to Kyle's and ask to join the Elves but he agreed with fatass. Hmm..." Just then some shouts were heard, wanting to avoid attention for a while you quickly looked around for a place to hide. "Typical..." you thought to yourself as you made your way up the tree which was the closest option. Suddenly four elves came running to the spot you were just at. "Where did it go?" "What was it?" The voices of the elves were suddenly stopped as someone cleared their throat. You looked at the elf in question suddenly recognising it to be Stan. "Great" you thought as you silently pushed yourself futher up the tree. "Whatever it was it's gone for now. To answer your question it looked like a dog of some sorts. And before you ask," Stan raised a hand to silence an elf who had his mouth open just about to speak "I think we should take whatever it was as a rogue at the moment. It may have been a human spy who knows but for we must keep an eye out." Stan and the other elves started to head off when a maybe not so briliant idea popped into your head. Tugging on the scarf around your face and making sure your hair wasn't visible you pulled on one of the tree branches making its leaves rustle. The elves turned their gaze towards the tree raising their weapons slightly before you made your grand escape. Jumping out from the tree you landed gracefully on the soft snow covered ground and turned your gaze towards the elves quickly making sure they saw you. Indeed they had seen you because one of them had the courage to speak up "Who are you?" Your mind quickly thought of a good name and before you had even processed it the words had already escaped past your lips. "Wolf"
Darting into the forest you made your way up another tree only to see the elves still standing there looking dazed and worried. So far you were no threat to them as you decided to let this one group past due to sheer numbers. Other groups however would not be so lucky. Watching the elves turn and leave you thought to yourself "Wolf yeah that suits me quite well. I'm the rogue in the shadows that strikes when it needs to. Before I do anything to drastic I need to create a name for myself. Now where to begin..."
