Chapter 24

"He wants us to go to a work function." Tae said.

"Work function?" I clarified. He nodded and returned typing away on his laptop. Would we go? I have only been to two of these functions and I'm not a big fan of them. His workmates would ask me so many questions which I did not know how to answer and some got way too drunk which would put me in a very uncomfortable position. Was this his father testing us again?

"Let's go." I said. I had to prove that Taehyung and I loved each other sincerely and nothing can stop us.

"Are you sure? We don't have to go if you're too tired." he said, looking at me.

"Don't use my sickness as an excuse." I said, walking to our bedroom. I called Mark and his girlfriend over again to babysit. The function was tonight and I needed to make myself look presentable as Taehyung's wife. I looked through my closet and gave up. I took a hot shower and blew dry my hair a little bit, then curled it in soft waves. By the time I got out of the washroom, Tae was looking through his part of the closet.

"I don't know what to wear." he said, running a hand through his hair.

I looked through my closet and finally decided on a black and red cocktail dress. The inner material was red and there was a layer of black lace that went on top of it. I matched it with a black clutch and a pair of black heels.

I helped Tae choose out a regular black skinny suit, a white dress shirt and a red tie. I put on heavy makeup to make the dark bags under my eyes not as noticeable. I also put on red lipstick to match with the dress. I walked out of the room and walked down to the kitchen.

"Wah! Eomma! You're so pretty!" Taeguk said.

"Gomawo Taeguk." I smiled in response.

Tae looked up and choked on his water.

"What? Do I look okay? Did I put on too much makeup?" I asked frantically, looking for a mirror.

"No, you look... Amazing." he breathed out.

Thankfully, his strawberry blonde hair has disappeared and he was back to his dark brown hair. The doorbell rang and I opened the door, seeing the adorable couple there.

"Annyeong!" I smiled, waving.

"Wah! Unnie, you look so pretty!" Eunji smiled, giving me a hug.

"Aniya..." I said, turning my head away, blushing.

"Hey Hyejin." Mark smiled.

"Hey Mark." I smiled back. We exchanged hugs and Taeguk came running out of the kitchen.

"Oppaaaa!!" she yelled, running towards Mark. She jumped onto him and he grabbed a hold of her and smiled.

"How about me Taeguk?" Eunji frowned.

"Mianhae. Hi unnie." Taeguk smiled, hugging Eunji.

Tae joined us and brought me my medicine and a bottle of water. I put it in my clutch and sipped a bit of water.
