Here's chapter 2! I'd just like to say that this fanfic is set before the boys got really famous..

Sierra's POV

Josh pulls the car into the school parking lot and I see people walking around in their uniforms and cars pulling up into the parking lot. It wasn't that different from the school I go to back in England.

We get out of the car and I grab my bag and everything I needed out of Josh's car.

"We are here," Taylor says with a blank expression.

"Aww you guys! Be more enthusiastic about school," I say to them plastering a fake smile on my face.

"Are you serious?" Josh asks raising his eyebrows at me.

"Ha! No," I respond.

"So wait, you're not excited to start school here? Cause when we talked on the phone about starting here you seemed pretty excited..."

"Yeah I am...sorta. It's just that...it's school. I don't think you're meant to like school."

"Anyways..." Josh says changing the subject. "We have half an hour to show Sierra around, let's go!"

I follow Josh and Taylor into the school's big white marbled building. I walked in and saw people walking around casually and I saw teachers and heaps of classrooms and stuff. Pretty much everything you see in a normal school.

"Oh and we have to take Sierra to see Mrs. Jansen," Taylor says to Josh.

"Wait, who's Mrs. Jansen?"

"The principal," Taylor replies. "But don't worry, she's really nice and she knows your starting here today because mum and her were on the phone for ages talking about this."

"It was so weird," Josh mumbles.

I laugh and continue to follow them through the narrow hallway.

"And this is the school library," Taylor says showing me the library.

"Ooh cool!"

Josh pulls out his phone to check the time, "the bell rings in ten minutes I think you should take Sierra to Mrs. Jansen now."

"Where are you going?" Taylor asks him.

"I told you, I've got a basketball meeting."

"Ugh, fine."

Josh pulls me into a hug, "See ya Sierra, good luck on your first day here."

"Thank you!"

"Okay, bye."

Taylor guides me to the principals office and after a few moments of us walking through the schools crowd we stop outside a blue door. There was a label on the door that read 'MRS. JANSEN' and below that in a font that was a bit smaller it read, 'PRINCIPAL'.

Taylor knocked on the hard blue door and a voice from inside yelled, "Come in!" Taylor twisted the rough doorknob and pushed open the door.

Sitting on a black wheelie chair behind her computer was a young lady who looked like she was in her mid-thirties. She was wearing a white top with a black blazer and a black skirt. Her brown hair was let out just past her shoulders and her red nail polish stood out with her outfit.

"Oh hello, you must be Sierra," Mrs. Jansen says. She has a calm, gentle voice that was very appealing to listen to. She held out her hand to me.

"Yep, that's me," I say taking her hand and giving it a quick shake. "You must be Mrs. Jansen."

"That's me!" She says with a slight laugh.

"Take a seat," She says gesturing to two black leather seats across from her desk. I sit down on the black leather, seat and I feel my butt sinking into the soft cushion.

"I have your timetable and everything else you need to start here today," Mrs. Jansen says pulling out sheets and sheets of paper out of a red folder.

"Here is your timetable," She says pulling out one of the papers and showing me a table that had words, numbers and all sorts if things in it.

"It's pretty straight forward. This is the subject, this is the classroom and this is the teacher of that class," Mrs. Jansen explains to me by pointing it out with her pen.

"Thank you," I say taking the paper from her.

"And these are just a few things you need to know about how the school rules and everything else you need to know," Mrs. Jansen says. "I'm sure Taylor has already explained some of the things on these papers to you."

She smiles at Taylor and Taylor smiles back. "Yeah she's told me quite about," I say.

"Well that's good! And that's pretty much it really. The bell will ring in a few minutes," she says looking at her watch, "and then you'll have to go to class. If you need anything else you can always come to me or talk to one of your teachers or even Taylor and Josh."

"Okay cool, thanks Mrs. Jansen."

"Thank you," Taylor says as we leave Mrs. Jansen's office.

Taylor walks out of the room and let's out a sigh, "Any questions so far?"

"Nope, you've been a great little mentor person...?" I laugh while Taylor gives me a weird stare.

"Thanks?" Taylor says raising one of her eyebrows at me. "Anyways, let me see your timetable and we'll go to your first class."

I pull out my timetable and show it to Taylor. "Okay so you've got Science period one and English period two and then we've got break one. Should we meet at your english room at break one?"

"If that's okay with you..." I say to Taylor.

"Yep, fine by me!"

"The bell's going to ring soon so I'll take you to your Science class now."

"Thank you, I'm probably going to get lost here," I say with a laugh.

"Nah, you should be fine."

When we reached my Science class the bell rang as if on cue and I gave Taylor a quick hug before walking into the class. As soon as I opened up the door I saw that people were already sitting in their seats staring at me...aka 'the new girl'.

I didn't know where to sit because what if I sit in someone else's seat and then they get angry at me for sitting in their seat?! Random thoughts like this go through my head as I look around the class.

"You must be Ms. Jenkins?" A voice from behind me asks.

I turn around and saw a fair lady with strawberry blond hair with big green eyes staring at me.

"Um...hi," I mumble as the shy side of me washes over me. I look down at my timetable to check the name of this teacher. "Hi Mrs. Dawson," I say more confidently.

She flashes her white teeth at me, "don't grab a seat just yet, I need to introduce you to the class."

I do what she says and groan in my head. I hate being 'the new girl'.

"Settle down everyone," Mrs. Dawson says to the class and once everyone was seated Mrs. Dawson started talking again.

"Good morning class, we have a new student in our class. Her name is Sierra Jenkins and she is visiting us from London. Make her feel welcome please." Mrs. Dawson looks at me and says, "you can sit by Luke."

I look at the class and see that all eyes were on me. Who's Luke? Is he nice? What if he's the school's bully?

I mentally punched myself and saw that a cute guy with blond hair who was sitting at the back of the class near a window waved his hand at me.

I walked over to him and he moved his books out of the way to let me sit. "Thanks," I say softly.

I have a feeling this is going to be the awkwardest Science class ever. Mrs. Dawson starts talking to the class and she gives us a task to do. I was in the middle of the task when I hear a voice with a strong Australian accent say "hi" to me.

I look up and see Luke smiling at me while he clicks his pen on and off.

"Hey," I reply awkwardly.

His eyebrows raise as soon as I speak and he looked surprised.

"Is everything okay?" I ask stupidly. Oh my god Sierra.

His face softens and he laughs a cute little laugh, "sorry, I just wasn't expecting such a strong British accent out of you," he laughs.

I laugh at his response, "well I am British."

"True... So why are you here?"

"Um..."

"Sorry, that sounded really rude. I meant like how come you've come to Australia?"

"Its fine, and I've come to stay here with some family just for a holiday," I  shrug.

"Oh cool, how long are you staying here for?" He asks.

"Not for long, just for a few months."

"How did you find this school to come to? It's a pretty small school in Sydney and its not very popular," Luke says.

"Really? Hm...didn't know that. And the answer to that question is that I'm staying here with my cousin and her family and she and her brother both go to this school so I had no choice I guess," I laugh.

"That's true," he laughs. "Who are your cousins? I might know them."

"Taylor and Josh Lynch."

"They're your cousins?!" Luke asks with his eyes nearly popping out of his head.

"I'm guessing you know them?"

"Sorta. Taylor is in a few of my other classes and Josh...he's part of the 'popular group'."

"Josh? The popular group? Are you sure we're talking about the same person here?"

Luke chuckles again, "Yeah. Josh Lynch, the basketball player and one of the leaders of the popular group."

I burst out laughing and get a few stares from the people around me. "You're kidding right?!"

"No, I'm not!" Luke laughs. "Why is this so surprising?"

"Well I've always thought of Josh as the dork. Josh, the dork." I nod my head.

He shakes his head making his blond hair shake ever so slightly. "He is one of the last people I would call a 'dork'!"

I spent the rest of the period talking to Luke about Josh, the school, myself and many other things. For some reason we never really got to talk about himself that much. But Luke is a really nice guy to sit next to and I think its safe to say that I just made my first friend at my new school.

I then went to English and I got seated next to a girl who didn't really talk much. It was pretty awkward actually. Maybe she was someone who liked to get her work done without being interrupted? I don't really know. All I learned about her was that her name is Rachael...that's about it.

The hour seemed to go by quiet quickly and soon the loud, high-pitched bell was ringing. I grabbed my stuff, shoved them into my bag and walked outside waiting for Taylor to arrive. After waiting for a few minutes Taylor was right beside me and we were walking to the cafeteria.

"So... How was it?!" Taylor says excitedly.

"It was actually really good!"

"Made any new friends? Any enemies?" Taylor says wriggling her eyebrows.

"No enemies but I did make a friend-"

"Oooohhh! Who is it?!" Taylor interrupts.

"A guy named Luke."

"Luke? Last name?"

"No idea," I reply. "I don't just go up to people asking them: 'hey what's your last name?'"

Taylor laughs, "True... But there are heaps of Luke's in our year. If you see him around just point him out, I'm very determined to see your new friend."

"I can see that..." I nod.

Just at the moment Josh walks up to us as we were waiting in line to the cafeteria.

"Hey! How're you liking the school so far?" Josh asks pulling me into a hug.

"It was really good! Now, are you going to sit with us or go off to sit with your friends...aka 'the popular group?'," I tease Josh.

"What?"

"A little birdie told me that you are one of the leaders of the popular group?" I explain to josh.

At that moment Josh just looks at Taylor with big eyes. "Hey! Stop accusing me! I promise, it was not me," Taylor defends herself and hands Josh and I trays and keeps one for herself.

"Wait, who told you this?"

"Someone..." I say mysteriously.

"That is not true!" Josh laughs.

"You can go to your friends if you want," Taylor says to Josh.

"Um, no one said that I wanted to go hang out with my friends! I wanna be with Sierra on her first day."

"Fine, fine."

****

After we ate a quick snack from the cafeteria Taylor and Josh thought that they should show me around the school a bit more. Not having any other plans in mind I agreed.

We went around the school and when it was five minutes left till the bell would ring again I checked my timetable for my next subject.

Music. My next subject was music. I let out a squeal of excitement. I freaking love music! Music is the only subject I like at school, I wait for me to have music anytime. Music is my passion. I've always wanted to be a singer/songwriter all my life but apparently being a singer 'won't get me enough money'. My parents have always wanted me to be a doctor...to earn the money. Because for some reason this world is all about the money, it's never what you want to do and it's never about what makes you happy. It's just about the money, always about the money.

"Oh of course Sierra is excited to do music!" Taylor laughs.

"Well obviously, it's Sierra. Have you talked to your parents about not wanting to be a doctor?" Josh asks.

Like I said, Josh and Taylor know everything about me.

"No...it's no use."

"Stop saying that!" Taylor says as we make our way to the music room. "Why are there so many things you can't tell your parents about?! You need to start standing up for yourself."

"I tried...i failed."

"Well then pick yourself up and keep trying!" Taylor replies.

"Wait, are we talking about Jake or the music?" Josh asks looking confused.

"Both," Taylor and I say in unison.

"Ahh right. How is Jake?" Josh asks.

"Uh, he's... What do I even say to that when people ask me how he is? He's mental! That's a good word for him."

"And this is the music room," Taylor exclaims as we come up to another classroom.

I stand on my tippy toes and peak through the window, I see all sorts of instruments scattered around the room. In the middle of the room were four guys: two blondes who were on guitars, a guy with dark hair on a bass and another guy sitting behind a drum kit. He was banging the drums like crazy and the other three guys looked pretty into whatever they were playing.

"You done staring?" Taylor asks.

"Sorry," I laugh.

"What're you looking at anyways?" Taylor asks peeking though the window.

"Oooohhh," she says looking back at me. "I see what you're looking at."

"Who are they?" I say peaking into the music room once again. I could hear the song they were singing very faintly and I don't think I've ever heard it before but it sounded pretty good.

"They're 5 Seconds of Summer," Taylor explains.

"5 Seconds of Summer? Cool! Are they really famous or something?" I ask curiously.

"At our school? Yes," Josh laughs. "Everyone loves them."

"Everyone from school that is," Taylor laughs.

"Aww you guys are so mean! They sound pretty good to me."

"Hey! We didn't say anything about them being 'bad'. I think they're amazing but they aren't famous outside of school," Josh says.

"Ohh..."

"But they do covers on YouTube though," Taylor adds.

"Yeah but even on YouTube, the only people who like or comment on the video are people from our school," Josh says.

"That was an exaggeration," Taylor says pointing at Josh and looking at me.

"Well from the little I can hear, I think they're pretty good," I say looking back into the music room through the tiny window. Suddenly I see that all four of the boys move from their places and start to pack up their instruments. And that's when I see him.
