Music Competition

One Week Later.
" Ready Ree ? " I asked him .
We were currently talking through the phone , getting ready for the music Competition .
" I can if u keep the phone. " He complained .
I laughed . " Bye . Pick me up . Ok ? "
" Oh , I almost forgot ! Ryan is gonna pick u up . Bye ! " with that he hung up .
How I felt to slap him .
I wore my sleeveless crop shirt ( black ) and a black skirt which went till my toes . I kept my wavy hair open .
Then my phone rang . It was an unknown number .
" Um.. Hello ? Amanda Tyler speaking here . " I said , wearing my socks .
" Um.. Amanda ? " a familiar spoke .
I froze . " Ryan ? " I said softly .
" Um.. I hope u know I was picking u up .. " He said . I could imagine him scratching him neck .
But , biggest of all , HE STILL HAD MY NUMBER ?!
" Um.. Are u there ? " He said , hesitantly .
" Yeah . Are u down ? "
" Yeah . "
" K. I'll be there . "
I quickly wore my socks and my converse and ran down .
" Bye Ma ! Bye Nicole ! Bye Ethan ! Come fast to see me perform! " I said , giving them a kiss each .
" Woah ! U look hot ! " My sis commented .
I giggled and gave her a wink and a dramatic pose .
" Who's picking u up ? "
SHIT.
" Um...... Ry- "
" Ryan ?! Call him in ! " Nicole shouted , running toward the door .
I groaned . In seconds , she appeared , Ryan being dragged by his arm .
" How are u Ryan ? Oh I haven't seen u in years ! " Mom said , giving Ryan a squeeze . Mom was like Ryan's second mother . So he always called her 'Mom' or 'mother' .
" Yes mother . " He said , sighing .
" Come ! Have a cupcake ! " Ethan said .
" No thanks , Eth . I guess I and Amanda need to leave . "
" Since when did u start calling Mandy Amanda ?! " Nicole said .
GOOD GRACIOUS ! COULD THIS DAY GET ANY WORSE?!
" Um.... " He said , scratching his neck .
I wish I could say Mom , Nicole and Ethan we had broken up 2 years ago . But I feared they might get depressed . They loved Ryan soooo much .
" Since today . Now if you'll excuse us , we have somewhere to go . " I said , pulling Ryan away .
" But at least - " Ethan tried to say something but , " Blah blah blah blah . Meet u at the school . Bye . " I said , shutting the door .
I didn't glance at Ryan . I kept massaging my temples . I sat in the car and wore the seatbelt .
Just when I opened the window , Ryan burst out laughing .
" What ? " I said , annoyed .
He was laughing madly .
" Can u concentrate ?! " I practically yelled .
He shut up and looked at me , parking the car in a corner . I sighed . " I'm-I'm sorry . I'm just - I'm just tensed . "
He cleared his throat .
The drive seemed long . Or it was because I was sleepy .
' Nothing's gonna happen if I take a small nap . ' I thought and dozed off to sleep .

" Where am I ? " I said sleepily when I opened my eyes .
" Good gracious ur awake ! " Reece said .
Shit ! We're in the backstage !!
" Freak ! Why didn't u wake me up ? "
" U were having ur beauty sleep ! " He said teasingly .
I showed him the finger and went toward the mirror to make my hair .
" Who bought me here ? " I asked .
" Ryan . "
I froze .
" What ?! "
" Yeah well . U slept and Ryan had to pick ur fatty body up . " Reece said , chuckling .
" Hey ! That's not funny ! " I said , pouting .
" u wanna say him thanks . Because he just picked an elephant . "
I hit him , hard .
" Hey ! That's not funny ! "
" Is so . "
" Is not ! "

" Alright alright . Quit , both of u love birds ! " Courtney said .
She was here all the time ?
I and Reece looked at each other in disgust . LOVE BIRDS ? Yuck.
" So . Are u ready ? You're next . " Ewan asked .
I shrieked . I swear I've never shrieked before .
" next ?! Were u guys gonna wake me up Tom ?! " I said , tying my converse lace .
They laughed .
" Next ! " Miss Kenaya said .
I took a deep breathe and clutched Reece's hand tight .
" It'll be fine . Besides , u Look pretty ! "
How did that even make sense ?
" Huh ? " I look at him .
" If u sing like a dying horse , then maybe they'll like it just cuz ur looking ... " he looks at me from up to down , then give me a cheeky smile . " Hot . " He mouths .
I hit him lightly and laugh .
Then I slip my arm into his .
Reaching the stage , each guy howls . The popular guys too . Though the girls keep making Envies and disgusted faces .
" Um.. Hey guys . I and my friend Reece will be presenting a song which both of us have made . It's called 'We Don't Talk Anymore' . "
No one cheered except for Courtney and Ewan . I blew them a kiss and was stunned to see Ryan sitting right next to them .
Then we started singing . We were built up strong when we reached the chorus .
We ended up by bowing .
Then one of the popular girl , Summer Scarlet , walked up to the stage. We couldnt even see if she was wearing anything . It was a skin color dress , transparent , and she swayed her hips from left to right.
" Yuck . " Reece said finally .
I laughed . " Hey singing will be yucker . I don't even know if that's a word !!! " I said , laughing uncontrollably .
He laughed with me .
" Um.. Guys ? " I heard a familiar voice speak .
" Court ! How was it ? " I said , running to give her a hug .
She squealed . " It was AH-MAZING ! " She said dramatically .
I giggled . " Hey Ew ! Hey Ry- " I stopped midway .
Ryan looked at me , poker faced .
How I hated that kind of a face .
" Say something , Ryan ! " Courtney said , nudging him .
I looked at my feet .
" It was amazing . " he said softly .
I looked up at him , shocked .
I didn't notice at first but suddenly , Ew , Court and Ree were gone .
" They left us again . " I said , laughing tensely .
" Um.. Yeah . "
I went toward the door to open .
Locked .
YAY LIFE .
" Um.. I'll try messaging Court . " I said awkwardly .
" Aha . " He said , not really paying attention .

I shook my head .
" They've left us until we make up . "
He laughed tensely . " Then they won't open us up for like forever ! " I heard him mutter .
I don't deny the fact my heart broke .
I clapped my hands together for no reason .
" Um... So how's life ? " He awkwardly asked .
So he was talking to me then ?
" Same old . Same old . " I said with hatred .
He sighed . " Aha . "
" How 'bout u ? " I asked , clapping my hands together again .
He thought for a moment . Then he grinned .

RYAN WAS GRINNING IN FRONT OF ME ?!
Wait . I think I know why .
" U joined the Football team ? " I asked doubtfully .
He looked stunned . " How'd u guess ?! " He asked .
I shrugged . " It was simple guess . " I said .
After 5 minutes of silence , Ryan spoke up .
" Did both of u make the lyrics ? "
I looked at him for several moments . " No . " I said softly .
A small smile appeared on his face . " U did ? "
I looked at my feet . " Yeah . "
" And the lyrics described ? "
I looked at him again . " You . " I said , shaking my head .
His smile dropped . He looked hurt .
WOW AMANDA . WAY TO GO ! YOU HURT HIM AGAIN !
" I'm sorry. I didn't mean it . I - " I was stopped by a finger pressing my lips .
" I get it . "
I was taken aback and took a step behind .
I shifted my weight from the left for to the right foot .
" So , um... Did u make any girlfriend after I left ? "
" No . " He said , looking down .
I smiled , but I quickly stopped myself before he could see me .
" I know u smiled , Amanda . " He said .
I looked at him , wide eyed .
DFUQ ?!
I sat down on the couch , looking at mine and Ryan's older picture . One was really hilarious .
The first pic was of me and him sharing a vanilla ice-cream .
The 2nd was of him smashing the ice-cream onto my face .
Third was of me in shock and him laughing .
Fourth was me smashing the ice cream on his face .
Fifth was of me and him having a Ice-cream fight .
And 5th was of him leaning his forehead against mine , both of us smiling .
I smiled when I saw the pictures . Then I heard a sad chuckle . Looking up , it was Ryan .
" U saw them ? " I asked .
" Kinda . " He said .
I turned to my phone . " I miss all of this . "
I froze .
I turned to him but his eyes seemed to wander somewhere else . I thought it was only my imagination and let it go .
" Um.. I'll just lie to them that we both have patched up so they can free us prisoners . " I joked .
I swear I heard him sigh .
