Benedict's p.o.v.

Every time I moved a little too much, a stream of pain was sent through my body. But thinking about Clary made the pain ease.

I let out a long sigh. It was Saturday and I was still lying in the bed at the hospital. Clary went home yesterday to get some rest. She said she could come back, but I told her that I would be fine, but I missed her and I wanted her to be here. But I also wanted her to get some proper sleep.

The door opened and for a brief second I thought it was her, but instead it was my mother. I was happy to see her. I always was. She smiled to me as she came in.

"Hi, Ben. How are you doing?"

"Well enough," I answered. But it wasn't quite as true. I was in pain, not only the pain the wound caused, but also for keeping my feelings inside and not being able to let them out.

However, my mother wasn't that easily fooled. She sat down and placed her hands on my arm gently.

"Clary is a lovely girl," she said. "She truly cares for you."

I let out a "hm..." and smiled.

"Although I wish I met her in different circumstances and not this way."

I looked at her and knitted my eyebrows to which she giggled at.

"I have noticed, due to the little time I've spent with her and seeing you two together. I'm pretty sure she likes you, and you my dear boy returns those feelings, don't you?"

I let out a sigh. It was true. I liked her, a lot and I wanted to tell her. I needed to tell her. The big question was how. And if she truly did feel the same and wanted to be with me.

"I know it might seem difficult, even impossible, for you to take it further, but if you both really want it, you can achieve it," she said encouraging.

I laid my head back on the pillow and looked up in the roof. Perhaps she was right about this too.

"When you get out of hospital, you should meet her and tell her everything." As she said it, she took a stronger grip around my arm to send a signal that she really meant it.

Late in the afternoon the next day, I was well enough to go home. On the whole ride home, I went through how I should tell her. I clenched my fist and held it up in front of my face while looking out the window. I took a cab home, as I didn't have my car here.

The sky was grey and gloomy. It seemed like it was possible that we would get some rain during the evening.

I felt vibration coming from my jack pocket. It was a message from Clary asking how I was doing. I answered by telling her I was out.

Seconds after I sent her a new text asking if we could meet. The respond I got back was positive. She would really like to meet me now that I was out.

We agreed to meet outside the student housing. She knew about a place where we were most likely to be undisturbed. I told the driver to head in that direction instead of my home.

It took around ten minutes before I arrived. The early evening was growing cold and it was darker outside. I walked after her descriptions and found her standing beside a tree. When she saw me, she came towards me.

Clary had a big smile on her face and she gave him a big hug but keeping in mind to be careful not to hurt him.
