Chapter 4

A few weeks has gone by and been uneventful. A.J and Punk had gotten closer along with the month of October. A.J and Punk decided to go as Joker and Harley Quinn. A.J was walking down the halls with confidence. It was the beginning of October and the leaves were turning different colors. A.J slowly approached Punk and covered his eyes.

"Guess who," A.J smiled giggling softly.

"Harley Quinn?" Punk joked.

"Nope but close," A.J said hugging him.

"So are you excited for today?" A.J grinned.

"What's today?" Punk asked confused.

"We were gonna go costume shopping," A.J replied.

"Oh shit, sorry I made plans with Lita today. Is it fine if we reschedule?" Punk gave an apologetic smile waiting for a reply.

"Yeah, yeah of course."

"Great, look I'll talk to you after school I have to talk to Lita," Punk left leaving A.J alone to find Seth.

Instead of finding Seth she found Dean. She had been avoiding Dean ever since the party happened. Although they lived under the same roof, she had done a really good job of avoiding Dean. Dean on the other hand, always tried to talk to A.J but she always seemed busy. Before A.J could hide from Dean he spotted her and quickly made his way to her.

"hey A.J," Dean greeted smiling.

"Hi," A.J greeted awkwardly.

"So, uh, you doing anything after school?" Dean asked.

"Well I did have plans but Punk cancelled on me."

"What were you guys going to do?"

"Costume shopping, I'm going as Harley Quinn. But the costume can wait," A.J answered.

"I can take you costume shopping if you want," Dean offered.

"I'm not against the idea but it might take a while," A.J replied.

"I have until around 10pm," Dean replied.

"What're you doing at 10?" A.J asked. It was a school night and he had plans at 10?

"Work," Dean answered.

"You work at 10?" A.J furrowed her brows not believing he worked at such a late hour.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"

"Its just weird that a high school student would have a job so late at night," A.J replied.

"Yeah I know, but I'm thinking about quitting that job and taking another offer around the same area higher pay just that the shifts are later," Dean shrugged.

"I do t think it's safe to have a job that's so late at night. What even is your job?" A.J questioned further.

"Can't tell you that."

"Why?" A.J pouted.

"Cause there are certain things that you can't know about me," Dean replied.

"Please," A.J whined.

"Nope."

"Please," A.J whined for about 5 minutes before the bell rang.

"Looks like time is up. See you at the house," Dean turned on his heel and walked away to his class.

The day went on and A.J couldn't wait to get out. She was determined to find out what Dean did to earn money. She watched the clock tick until the bell rang. A.J hopped out of her chair and sprinted to the parking lot to wait for Dean.
