Chapter 6
The building was hidden behind another building – an old lady’s charity shop, to be precise. It looked reasonable enough to be a big house on the outside but in the inside... it was like it was an entire different town. There was a city-centre with a fountain of a male angel and a female angel; they appeared to be dancing-
And in love, Ace whispered using telepathy, that’s how it was intended to look.
Get out of my head! I demanded but I could tell he could sense my smile behind it.
There were different directions with different powers inscribed on the signs. I didn’t have a chance to look as a woman in a floor-length white gown floated towards us.
‘Hello, Randy; Sonia... Ah, this must be Ace... and you must be his younger brother, Taran.’ The woman spoke heavenly. ‘I’m sorry; I must have got the date of our meeting wrong. I’m always forgetting... some... thing...’ The woman stopped speaking and just stared at me.
‘Arella, this is Ryvre. She’s a broken angel, like Ace. Unfortunately, she has not been taught how to fulfil her gift nor has she heard of blocking... or the dynasties.’ Randy explained.
‘That’s just awful! We must attend to that matter as soon as possible!’ Arella gasped and placed her hand on her cheek. ‘Is there anything else I should know?’
I could feel myself turning red and Ace took hold of my hand and squeezed it gently. ‘Ryvre is my twin-soul.’
The woman seemed confused and emotionally drained. ‘How old are you, Ryvre?’
‘I’ll be turning seventeen on the twenty-second of January, ma’am.’ I smiled nervously.
‘That can’t be right.’ Ace looked at me with a confused expression. ‘You are my twin-soul but you should have been born in December which would mean you’re already seventeen.’
‘I wouldn’t know... I was adopted, remember? All of my memories are lost. The twenty-second is the date I was taken into care.’ I chose that date because that’s when I finally was cared for.
‘Oh... right... well, that’s understandable.’ Arella nodded and said, ‘Please come and discuss this with my husband.’
She led the way through an archway and to some shining sliver gates which opened by her presence. We then walked up the three giant steps to the doors which were opened for her. There were three floors – the first one looked like it was for guests: TV, stereo, settees... The second floor looked homely: some of the doors had names written on them. The third was clearly the business floor.
There was a reception and a waiting area! We walked past it and went into what looked like a conference room. There was a massive white wooden table with glass swivel chairs and a big plasma TV hanging on the back wall.
‘What are we doing?’ I whispered loudly to Ace.
‘We are going to meet one of the leaders of the dynasty and decide how it’s best to help you.’ Ace explained using the same volume that I had used to talk to him.
‘Would it be possible if Hugh and Electra join us?’ Arella asked. ‘It would be better for Ryvre to experience the physical and mental attacks.’
My body squirmed, attacks?! You guys are going to attack me?!
Not properly, Ace reassured me, just so you get a slight idea of what you would be up against if you faced a black angel. We’ve all been through it – its basic training – it doesn’t hurt a bit.
