I threw my duffle bag into the trunk of the impala, I'm still slightly pissed that I could bring most of my weaponry but it seems as though they have a sizeable arsenal.
"Come on, kiddo." Dean says before hopping into the drivers seat. After a brief goodbye hug to Bobby, much to his surprise, I slide into the back seat and stretch my legs out. Sam takes his place up from beside his brother.
Dean pulls out of Bobby's place and towards the road.
"Wh-where's Castiel?" I ask reluctantly. Dean cocks an eyebrow at me in the mirror.
"Cas does his own thing, only coming when we call. He might pop in though." Dean says, still looking at me through the mirror. He seems amused and even a bit...protective? With a nod, I close my eyes and settle back for the ride.
"Is anyone hungry?" Dean chirps over the tape playing in the radio. I shake my head with a smile on my face, this asshat still listens to tapes!
"I'm fine." Says Sam, continuing his scan of the map.
"I could eat." I hear myself mumble.
"It's settled then. Food time." I can hear the smile in Dean's voice, clear as day. These guys amaze me.
A flap of wings and a heavy weight on my legs startles my eyes awake.
"Geeze, Cas!" Dean yells as he swerves slightly. Sam looks like he is 100% done with the situation, he isn't even fazed.
"Cas! Get off me!" I hiss, pushing him to get my feet free. He tilts slightly and my feet come free.
"There have been...occurrences." He says after a moment of watching me massage my ankles.
"What kind of occurrences?" Mumbles Sam, Dean is glaring hard at the road. I can see his face in the mirror.
"Electrical storms. Dying crops..-" "Demonic occurrences, Cas. Demonic." Grunts dean.
"Yes...Dean." Cas sounds a bit irritated. My mind can't help but float over to my memory of last night and I bite my lip to keep from making a noise. Cas' eyes flick down my face and then back up to my eyes. He's...blushing!
I'm angry that him blushing makes my heart flutter about as much as his smile does. My head snaps away, eyes boring holes into the back of Dean's head.
"I will arrive there with you." Cas says, averting his gaze from me. I begin making faces at myself while my mind begins arguing. Every ounce of me is vividly aware of event the tiniest movement from Castiel. The way he sits as if there is something on his back, wings obviously, the way his eyes carefully scan his surroundings. Even the way he keeps his hands carefully folded in his lap is attractive to me.
I'm desperately trying not to stare at the little angel beside me. He seems so lost, so sad, as I look side long at his face. There, written all over his face is the emotions that are usually only seen in a person's eyes. Suddenly, he shakes his head as if realizing that he has let his guard down and that mask of indifference is plastered on again.
My hand reaches out of it's own accord and gently brushes against his own. He jumps slightly but keeps his eyes trained straight ahead. I let my fingers trail over his knuckles and weave themselves between his own fingers. I can feel him trembling ever so slightly. As if I'm being controlled, my free hand slides against the stubble on his jaw. Tilting his head towards me, I once again catch his lips in my own.
I'm shaking again, my whole body is trembling. There's just something about the way his face look when he's brooding, the way he hunches over and looks so lost. Just the feeling of him near me, the way he looks at me, it's as if...maybe....I could find myself with his help. And maybe I could even help him.
