I blinked my eyes open. There were two nurses standing over me, and Mark was no where in sight. I sighed as they began to fuss over me, cleaning out the wounds and putting on fresh bandages. I wanted Mark here, but he didn't need to see this. I lay down while they gave me my usual meds and fixed my IVs. They said I could go home soon, and while they were pretty nice, I wanted to be home. I closed my eyes and imagined me on the couch playing video games with Mark, like we usually would when we had free time. I blinked my eyes open when I heard the chair being gently dragged across the floor. Turning my head slightly to the left, I saw Mark sitting in the chair giving me a full, gorgeous smile. It made my heart flutter and my stomach do flips when he smiled at me like that. Yep, so ready to go home.

2 HOURS LATER

It was almost lunchtime when we finally made it back to my apartment. During the drive, Mark told me my family had already left, and my friends were all staying at Maddie's place next door to my apartment. He said that while I was asleep that he had told parents about me needing rest, and they agreed. I sighed happily when I went into my room and flopped onto the bed. It hurt, but I didn't care; I was happy to be home. My grinned widened when I felt Mark sit down on the end of the bed. It was nice to have him around. But what confused me was why he stayed with me in the hospital. I mean, yeah we were friends but from the way it sounded. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing, "Hell?" I asked tiredly, "Hey! We heard what happened, and that you're ok. How you feeling everyone is so worried" Daneel gushed. I smirked before explaining everything that happened. Naturally the news would reach my co-workers. We talked for a few minutes while Mark sat on the edge of my bed. When I finally hung up, I sat up, stretched, and looked at Mark expectantly. He smirked, "Would you like something for lunch?" he asked in his smooth, seductive voice. I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. After all, while Mark was my friend, I was still a fangirl. I decided to change while he was gone. I grabbed my favorite pair of sweats and a tank top. I went to the bathroom and changed my pants really quick, but I soon got distracted. "Damn" I thought. For the first time I could see how bad it was. I stood there in my sweat pants and bra, looking at the large bandage over my stiches, healing scrapes and yellowing bruises. I heard a gasp and turned to see Mark standing in the doorway, mouth open in a little 'O' and his shocked eyes wide. I paused, unsure what to do when he turned away. "Mark?" I asked tentatively. I hoped he wasn't weirded out about it. My immediate thought was that he was disgusted with me, shocked at the ugly bruises and scrapes along my torso. So you can imagine my shock when he turned back to me with a growl and pressed me up against the wall. Before I could even respond, his lips crushed against mine furiously.
