Joe's P.O.V.

I awoke this morning, despite barely sleeping, feeling a lot better than expected. Although the bags under my eyes, from only three hours sleep, suggested different. I had been awake all night, with anything but sleep on my mind. The main thing being Lydia. Are things going to change between us? Of course they are, she might be carrying your kid. Even if she isn't pregnant, things can't go back to the way they were, there's clearly something between us.

The first thing I did when I woke up was shower. I stood under the shower head, steaming water running down my back for half an hour, until water started to run out. Once I'm dressed, it's already 10:32am. Caspar sits in our kitchen, drinking coffee.

"You off to meet Lydia?" He asks. I explained everything to him as soon as I got home yesterday. From Zoe's birthday to yesterday. I still haven't talked to Lydia, but I'm meeting her at the doctors at 10:45am.

"Yeah, and I have to go now if I want to make it in time. I'll text you after the appointment," I grab my car keys and walk down to my car.

Lydia's already inside when I arrive, and I sit down in the seat next to her. Smiling, I grab her hand between mine.

"Hey Lyds, how you feeling?" She shrugs her shoulders.

"Honestly, I'm just extremely nervous... I might be pregnant..."

"Yeah, so am I... nervous, that is... hopefully everything is okay. Hey, how did telling Zoe go?"

"A lot better than expected, honestly. She got a bit upset I didn't tell her, but took it a lot better than I thought she would." I open my mouth but before I can reply, I'm interrupted.

"Miss Lydia Samuels," Lydia stands up, hand still locked with mine. We follow the nurse to a room towards the back, sitting on a chair beside Lydia. The nurse turns towards Lydia and starts speaking again. "So, it says on my paper that you might be expecting a child. Why is it that you came?"

"I wanted to check whether or not the tests I took were true before deciding what time do," The nurse nods in understanding.

"Okay, that means I'm going to have to take a blood test from you. The results shouldn't take too long to come back," She stands up. "Follow me into another room." We both follow her into another room further to the front, where a chair rests for Lydia to get blood taken. She sits down and rests her right arm where the nurse tells her to, my hand now resting in her left. It takes only a few seconds for the nurse to take the blood. When she's done, she sits on a chair in front of us. "The test should take about fifteen minutes if you two want to sit in the waiting room and wait. I'll come let you know when it's done." I follow Lydia out into the waiting room, where I sit next to her, her hand in mine. We sit there talking about anything we can think of. Movies, music, tv shows.

At 11:27am, the nurse calls us back to her room. In her hands lie something that can change my life. Lydia takes the envelope from the nurse, the hands shaking slightly. She pulls out a bright pink piece of paper, on which lies the fate of our future. Her eyes scan the paper lightly before turning to face me.

"I-I'm pregnant..." She barely gets the words out before bursting into tears. I pull her into me, and her arms wrap around my torso. I stroke her hair as the nurse stands there awkwardly.

"We'll be okay, Lydia, we'll pull through this," I pull back, kissing her lightly on the head.

Lydia's P.O.V.

My head spins as Joe pays for the appointment. I'm pregnant. I'm eighteen years old and expecting a child. This isn't how I planned for my life to go. But I guess you can never tell how things are going to happen. I walk outside and rest against my car, as Joe approaches me.

"So, we're having a kid. What the hell are we going to do?" He asks, laughly slightly.

"I have no idea. We're both only eighteen. Technically adults, but are we really old enough to raise a child?"

"Probably not, and if don't want to keep it, I'm not going to pressure you into keeping it, but I think we'll still make damn good parents. We both have enough money to look after it, and we'll have Zoe and Alfie's help, and Jim and Tanya's, and Caspar's, as well as our parents."

"Yeah, I know. Have you told anybody?" He shakes his head.

"Only Caspar. I think we should tell our parents soon though."

"Yeah, we'll wait a week or so... I should probably get home though, I've barely slept these past days, so I thunk I'm going to go sleep off all my emotions," I pull Joe into a quick hug before hoping into my car. Joe walks off towards his as I drive off home.
