6/6 - saturday

Lydia's POV

Today mark 10 weeks since Zoe's birthday. Joe and I are still going strong. We've had a few fights here and there but that's expected in a relationship.

Today, a group of us are going to the beach. The sun shines brightly outside, although I doubt many of us will swim because it's still too cold.

The group includes Zoe, Alfie, Tanya, Jim, Caspar, Joe, and me.

At 10:30am, Zoe showed up at my house with Joe and Alfie, insisting on helping me get ready.

"But Zo, we're only going to the beach?"

She had shrugged at that, dragging me up to my room, barely giving me enough time to give Joe a peck on the lips.

She started tearing into my drawers as soon as we reached my room, pulling out all of my bikini pairs and piecing them together, seeing which ones matched and which ones she didn't like. In the end, she picked plain black bikini bottoms with a black top that wraps around and ties in the back.

"Go try it on, I'll pick out something for you to wear over the top," I walk out into my ensuite and change into my bikini, before walking back into my room. On my bed rests a stripy t-shirt dress and gladiator sandals. Before slipping into the dress, I walk my full-length mirror, my hands resting on my belly. It's starting to show a bit not, only slightly but enough to notice it's there.

"The babies are already starting to ruin my belly," I groan. Zoe laughs and opens her mouth to speak, but before she can say anything, there's a knock on my door. "Come in!" I yell. Joe walks through the door, wearing a dark blue t-shirt and bathing shorts.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we have to go to the train station soon," He turns as if noticing me for the first time. "You look really great, Lydia," I smile softly at him before pushing him out the door and getting dressed.

When we arrive at the train station, the others are already there and the train's ready to leave. The seven of us pile into one table slot, barely fitting. I'm basically sitting on Joe's lap, squished against the window and him. Other than this small problem, the train ride goes by quite fast, and soon enough we're all sitting on towels and blankets at the beach in Brighton.

The sun is warm against my tan skin, as I slather myself in sunscreen. Joe sits on a towel next to me, phone in his hand. He turns to me, smiling slightly.

"Odds on you jumping in the water with me?" I shiver at the thought but still answer. I'm not one to shy away from a challenge.

"Hmm, one to five?" He smirks.

"Okay, on the count of three... one, two, three..."

Together, we both yell 'three' and I curse under my breath. Joe bursts out laughing as he grabs his GoPro from his beach bag.

"Hi guys!" He starts. "Today I'm at the beach with Lydia, Zalfie, Janya, and Caspar. Right now, Lydia and I are going to go jump into the water, which, by the way, is freezing cold."

"But first, take a photo of me, will ya?" I say, handing him my phone. He pulls me up and places his camera on the ground. I pose a few times while he takes a photo, before handing my phone back to me and picking up his camera again.

"Are you ready for this, Lydia?" He points the camera at me and I grin.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" I yell, before taking off, barely giving Joe time to figure out what happened, but once he does, he pushes off, speeding after me. We reach the water at the same time, but I dive in fast, whereas he shuffles in. I feel the cold of the water as soon as I resurface, my teeth clattering together. Joe resurfaces just after me, noticing my shivering mouth. He swims over to me, pulling me close to him. I wrap my arms around his neck.

"Lyds, I wanna tell the viewers about us and the babies..." I taken back by this statement.

"But we haven't even been together for very long?"

"So? People are bound to figure out, and you're starting to show already," He steps back, standing up properly and pulling me up with him. He places his hands around my small belly as mine rest on his hip bones. "I wanna be able to tell people that you're mine," He kisses me gently on the mouth.

"I guess we can, how about we wait a few weeks, though, two weeks max? By then I should properly be showing and I won't be able to hide it."

"I think that's fair enough, just tell me when you're ready."

We walk back, his hand slipped into mine, and I lie down on my towel.

The rest of the day is spent on the beach, sunbathing, talking about things that aren't important and making jokes we won't remember at the end of the week.

At 4:23pm, the seven of us make our way to the train station, as it starts to get cooler. Again, we squish into a table booth, sipping on cokes and water if you're Zoe.

We all head back to Zoe and Alfie's flat once we arrive back in London, because their's is the biggest. We order pizza and sit around their dining table, enjoying the warm food. Once the pizza's almost done, I start to talk.

"So, Joe and I were thinking about telling the viewers about us, and the babies, because it's going to be too hard to hide soon," Tanya almost chokes on her food.

"You're pregnant?!" Her eyes go wide.

"Ah... yep... I thought everyone knew..."

"I didn't! How far along are you?"

"I'm ten weeks with twins..."

"Wait, you and Joe haven't been together for that long?" She says, piecing everything together.

"Ah, no we haven't..." The conversation is all of a sudden very awkward, and I try change the subject, not wanting to talk about this anyway. Thank god, Zoe notices how uncomfortable I am and tries to move some of the attention off me.

"I think that's a good idea, guys, if you want some help on what to say then I'm here," She smiles softly.

"Thanks Zo, but I think I'll probably just wing it. I'm no good at sticking to a script."

Lying in bed that night, I feel relaxed, and properly happy. The beach always makes me super happy, and there's a lot of good things going on right now. I fall asleep that night with a smile on my face.
