Hugging herself in the corner of the roof, watching the small window she sat.

Teeth chattering, fists clenching, heart bumping out of her chest.

She was watching her little brother being stabed right in front of her eyes, by a mysterious brunette.

'I want to look away,' she whispered to no one in particular.

'Please don't let me see this, please.'

That was when she shook shook and trembled horribly.

Was It really happening? Was her baby brother being killed right in front of her eyes, and she couldn't do everything?

Glimpse after glimpse, and it all came around -

"Ashley, wake up,' her mom whispered making her eyed open wide. "Breath, Ashley."

She sat up, inhaling, exhaling to force air into her lungs. Her mother handed her the cup of water, as she took it gratefully, chugging it down in one big gulp.

"Nightmare, sweetie?"

She just nodded, her respiration process proceeding. "What time is it?"

"Ten to seven."

"Shit, I gotta go to school, " she said jumping out of her bed.

"Language, Ashley, " her mother scolded, getting up towards the door, leaving her to get dressed privately.

"Sorry! "

She pulled out her black jeans, along with a black V neck, a black sweater and a pair of black combat shoes.

Black.

She was still severely affected by her father's death, two years ago. Murder death. Ever since, he only colored piece she had on her, was her ginger hair.

Nothing but her hair and her skin were colored.

"Breakfast is downstairs, Ash, " her older brother, Newt, called through the door.

"Coming!"

She pulled her hair in a ponytail, leaving her front bangs free. She grabbed her backpack, the revision papers from the nightstand, and hurried downstairs.

"Morning guys, " she greeted making then mumble back the greeting.

She sat beside her sister, Liesel, as Newt placed the dishes in front of them.

"Where's Daniel? " she panicked searching for her two year old baby brother.

"Relax, Ash. Dan us asleep with mom."

She sighed as Liesel patted her shoulder, a confused look on her face. She still had that soft heart that would make anyone calm in a matter of seconds.

"Aren't you gonna eat?" Newt furrowed his eyebrows, slicking back his short, brown hair.

"The amount of papers in my hands does not make me hungry."

"It's seven thirty, guys. We have to go," Liesel warned making them stand up, shouting goodbyes to their mother.

"Great, another day in hell. "

#############################

"Hey dust head!"

Ashley turned around, seeing the person.

'So great to see him after exams break.'

"So, honey, tell me what you're getting your daddy for Father's day, " he said touching her hair.

"Don't fucking touch me."

She slapped his hands rolling her eyes making him smirk. Her ex.

"I'm getting him flowers," she mumbled before turning around, holding her backpack.

Just as she started to walk, a sentence caught her off guard.

"Flowers? Wow your dad must be gay."

She stopped, never turning back, but stumbling on her feet. Tears slipped down from her long lashes as she closed her eyes, letting them fall onto her cheeks.

It was all too much.

She raised her chin back up, and continues walking past everyone in the hallway, never looking at any of them. Especially her Ex-bestfriends.

Everyone in her life was suddenly a stranger again, except for her family. Which was what kept her strong.

Walking outside the gate, a flower shop caught her eyes. Just what her esteem was begging for.

"Hello, may I help you, young lady? " an old woman smiled making her return back the gesture.

"Yes, I want a set of white roses. Without a wrapper. " She looked around, admiring the shop, smiling at the flowers' beauty.

"There you go. "

"thank you so much, you're so sweet," she said right as her eyes fixed on the wide smile spread on the elder's face.

"No need need to thank me, sweetie. "

With that, she left in the direction of the almost haunted road. The cold air bit her and she had to somehow get the sweater a bit warmer.

"There," she said arriving at the huge gate, of the cemetery.

Her fast movements came to a halt and she started moving slowly, leaving her bag at the gate.

She came to her most beloved grave. Her father's.

"Hey dad," she paused, kneeling down to sit on her thighs. "I know I usually being you red roses, but today they're white. Happy father's day. "

She sighed, happily, placing the flowers on the soil. "I miss you so much. And I'm not going to say that I know I'll see you soon, because I know that would just make you upset. I'm a lot stronger now, dad. See? My wrist is almost completely healed," she smiled, rolling up her sleeves to run a finger in her faint cuts.

"I wanna tell you about today, " she sat on her tummy, playing with the roses before she started. "I ran into my friends today. But I listened to your advice. In the dream I had. Remember? I'm leaving them. I walked away right in front them without being scared. Even Calum, I scolded him when he tried to touch me."

She smiled, before hugging the grave stone. "I mean, I wish I could've kicked him right there and then when he tried to offend me, but I played cool just like how you taught me." The last thing on her mind was having her clothes full of soil.

"Well," she stood up, a smile still on get face. She never got over the fact that he's dead, lifeless inside the ground. Literally. She knew he'll always be in her heart. "I gotta go. I mean, I wish I could spend note time, but I have exams tomorrow. And mom will be worried. And, by the way, mom loves you. A lot. The last thing she thinks about is finding a man so don't worry. I'll see you tomorrow, after my exam."

She blew a kiss, and walked out, taking the bag by the gate.

Broken souls and dry eyes.
