A/N I recommend listening to the song while reading this.
"Run, Run, Run," was all that had to be said from him in order to make her weak, yet fast limbs hurdle a little faster. He finally gave up and lifted her body, running as fast as he could as she clinged onto him.
Hearing his siblings, and their boss call and roar at them was more than just terrifying. Ross knew too well that this was no joke. He's slowly dying.
His black, leather, studded jacket did its best in warming her freezing, half naked body in the bitter winter season. She dug her fingers into his blonde, luscious hair, trying to ease her scared body.
"You can put me down now, I'm capable of running," she softly croaked out but all he did was run faster, hugging her body closer to his.
"It's alright, just rest and get warm."
His numb mouth couldn't utter a different sentence. Every little memory came back to him the moment she hugged his neck.
His controlling brother in law, his serial brothers, his awful girlfriend, the innocent people he once used to kill, the blood that used to stream down his hands and the screams echoing from their vocals...
That one, innocent victim who was killed trying to escape handcuffs, by forcing his bleeding wrist out.
"I think we lost track of them," her soft, delicate voice brought him back to his consciousness, where his tired legs slowed down, standing In front of a gas station.
"I don't think so jut yet," he whispered before setting her down, reaching for his phone in the black ripped jeans he wore and smashing it on the hard, concrete sidewalk. "Now we're good."
He looked at her shrunk self, immediately feeling sorry that her body was vulnerable at such a time. He took his jacket completely off and wrapped it around her body before she zipped it up shyly.
"Are we going to stay here for now?" She softly whispered making him step closer to her.
"I'm going to grab some trousers for you or pretty much anything to wear ...you're freezing. Literally."
She left him and sat on the grass filled pathway, hugging herself. "Thank you...uhm-"
"Ross, my name is Ross."
She nodded once again before her head dug with her pulled up knees, trying her best to gain a good temperature under the faux material of the jacket. He stood awkwardly, just looking at her in sorrow, imagining the things his brother did to her. Nasty.
"I'm just- gonna grab us somethings to live on for now. Please don't go alright? I promise I won't take long."
She raised her head, looking at him with the tears brimming in her eyes, nodding. Luckily for her, he didn't notice and hurdled over to the door.
Her self esteem had her siblings' name burnt into them. Never fading away. All of their names came closer to her heart by every following day.
But she felt happy about her mother and her little brother, not living at such harsh times. They were in a much better place now. Including her friend Jane.
They were looking down at her right now, happy that she was strong enough to not be killed the way they were murdered. And she knew it too well, she felt their eyes in her, proud and happy.
All thanks to the blonde family member who owned an actual heart, Ross.
"ASHLEY! ASHLEY RUN RIGHT NOW, GO GO GO!" loud cries echoed from her side and she looked to see Ross trying to escape a bunch of wild creatures. Wolves, perhaps. Dogs?
