Coupleting

Once upon a long time ago:

When the Earth was sunshine filled with snow,

before it melted into blocks of sea

and the sunshine crisped into desert scree.

Particles peppered the wind's frantic dance,

hurried along in life's manic advance,

Heaven's intensity left no shadowed pawl

and the Universe wore a crimson shawl.

Here minuscule droplets stretched to divide

and with neighbours, coupleting likewise, collide,

their impetuous conception

quickening diversities spawn

within the flaming bedchamber

where-in all  living was born
