So liiikkkke I'm tryna not to get upset abt this bc like idkdkdkdjfjdkrkjr
Basically yesterday was Mothers Day and I love my mom okay, but like
SmHshdhdbdms
We went out to this buffet and they had sushi which is my fave so bless and I picked up one piece of sushi and said "why have gender roles when we could have sushi rolls(∩_∩)" and ate my sushi annddbdnddd
My mom was like "I like gender roles tf?" And I was sort of like
(I had to fucking Google that meme ihms)
I was trying not to flip a table bc you know how I love jumping to conclusions, also bc she'd pull the "its mother's day respect mE" card sooo
So then I was like "I mean forced masculinity or something. Like boys thinking they can't show any emotions low key bc 'boys don't cry' or women being forced to be house wives lmao bc that sucks"
And she was sort of like "I like the simplicity of it. How you don't have to think abt it, like no, women should be allowed to have careers and all, but they are naturally better care takera for children"
So I was like "so a single father/gay couple wouldn't care for their children properly????"
But then my dad sort of grabbed some lobster and changed the subject bc ahhh and when we got back home I watch spn with my bro bc *screams* he's getting into it!1!1!1!
But yeah idk like she's always been for me not conforming to gender roles (my grana not so much. "Leah! I saw it was pink and thought of you!" K g-ma) but my brother has always been sorta pushed into being a boy bc I remember when we were little teeny tiny tots he would put on my dresses and put his hair into lil itty bitty pig tails and she used to be all for that but then she sort of stopped??? It was a little after he started school so idk???
Rlly tempted to buy this shirt that says "sushi rolls not gender roles" and just skip about the house in it
