Ugh! Why must you torture me so?! (laughs, then stops). No, seriously. Why? I know we all feel that, us bookworms!

Ow! Ouch, hey, stop that! Okay, okay, I'll pick one! Gosh, did you have to use War and Peace? Have you seen the size of that freaking thing?

Ahem, excuse me. Back to business. My favourite book by another author. Hmmmmm.

I honestly can't pick so I'm going to say which book meant most to me growing up: Harry Potter. Yes, I know, it's eeeeveryone's fave, hooow original. Yada yada yada. But it's the one that brings back the fondest memories, and I'll explain why.

I discovered Harry Potter around Christmas, I think. I can't remember which year, I was probably about eight or nine. I think it was not that far from its publication date. Anyway, we already had the first book and had enjoyed it, then listened to it on the radio on the BBC when it was broadcast in full (read by the wonderfully talented Stephen Fry).

I can still remember my mother, brother and me lying in his room listening to it. And then, later, my mother took to reading passages to us in the evening (one summer, my brother even asked me to read The Order of the Phoenix to him! O.o). And I loved those times. So, Harry Potter.
