There are so many people I look up to and admire for their talent, courage or generosity. Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Carrie Underwood, Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, to name but a few. But as I have to pick, I will go with someone who I look up to as a writer.
JK Rowling went through a lot of difficulties, before and while writing Harry Potter. But she stuck to it and is now all but revered like a goddess (if she isn't already) by the fandom. She is living proof (but is most certainly not the only one) that things can and do get better if you fight hard enough for it.
I'd never fully realized until these past few years how hard one had to fight sometimes, not just when writing but in life, and how difficult it was to find the strength to. So I keep writing because it's what I love, and I will until I get where I want to be.
Who are your heroes? Maybe they're one of mine as well!
