Day 2 - Favourite dedication

I try and dedicate chapters to people who encouraged me or helped me make my story better (fixing typos, pointing out inconsistencies, mistakes... you know the kind) because I firmly believe readers are equally important to our craft, and they deserve to be recognized too. After all, writing is all very great, it's a wonderful way to express yourself and show your voice, but what good is it if no one is there to hear you?

But I think my favourite is the very first one I made which was to a non-wattpad user. She's my real-life best friend and was instrumental in my becoming a writer with just three little words: "You've got something". It doesn't sound like much, but to me it meant the world. So when I posted my first chapter, the choice was easy. Lorraine, if you ever read this, I love ya girl!

As for the favorite dedication I ever received, I have to say @SarahBensonBooks dedicating a chapter of her incredible Shadow Wars series. I wasn't expecting it and was so honored. She is a credit to Wattpad. She is also one of the people who encouraged me when I was doubting the value of No Way in Heaven or Hell. She helped me get where I am today, and I'll be forever grateful of that.

And finally, when it comes to favourite dedications in a novel, I would have to say Kiera Cass's "Hi, Dad! *waves*" is the one for me. While I love JK Rowling's salute to all us Potterheads, I can't get over the simplicity of Kiera Cass's. It's just so short and full of love at the same time, you can only be touched by it. I personally don't have that kind of relationship with my own father for a number of reasons, and it makes me happy to see not all fathers are like him.
